This is the gripping story of how God took a young, half-starved boy from a poor village in Henan province and placed him on the front line for Jesus, in the face of impossible odds. Instead of focusing on the many miracles or experiences of suffering, however, Yun prefers to focus on the character and beauty of Jesus.

Interspersed with his personal account are contributions from his wife, Deling, made mostly during her husband's frequent periods of imprisonment. You will remember where you were the first time you read this life story. It's a watershed book that will turn the reader to prayer and praise. It deserves comparison with past classics such as Tortured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand, or the Life of Watchman Nee.

Officially the best book I've read after the bible! Inspiring and profound with so many lessons we can walk away with. The church in the West needs to rise up, go back to the bible basics and stop denominationalism. For most of the time while listening to this book i would catch myself shaking my head with pure amazement! Such an inspiring and challenging testimony! This book was inspiring and shamming at the same time. The level of torture and abuse this man has endured and yet nothing will stop him from spreading the Gospel. What an inspiration and blessing.

God powerfully works through people who have totally dedicated their lives to Him and Brother Yun is an example of this. Throughout hardship, suffering and grief, God comforted and carried Yun and his family through, and used their trust in Him as a powerful witness. This book is a true testimony to how God cares for and uses His servants to spread His love throughout His creation.
