The breathing techniques are interesting. But alot of promotion to join his 40 years of Zen, and long time getting to the different breathing techniques. And wasn't really interested in the LSD sections which are about a 1/4 of the book and some other parts which I even skip over. But as the author says take what you need from this book and discard whatever doesn't work for you.

More of a Sales pitch for upgrade Lab

I really wanted to love this book. I was excited about it at first, for both the meditation and biohacking aspects, but that wore very quickly. Make no mistake, this is not a book about meditation, and feel the title is just a gimmick grab and would have been better titled something more appropriate for the subject matter. So far (more than halfway through) there has been very little about meditation and frankly I'm getting tired of hearing "at 40 years of Zen we....". This book just feels like an extended sales pitch for Asprey's $16,000 five-day retreat and his other books. It's wearing on my last nerve and I'm not confident I'll be able to finish the book at this point. I have never been annoyed by a "meditation" book.

Asprey offers no unique information, but rather a collection of others' ideas and research. Although, I do appreciate having them all in one book, I would have loved to see some of his own ideas also.

As for Asprey himself, he is so confident that he will live to be 190 years old (makes this claim several times in the book), I would love to see some of the science to back his claim and understand his assertion better. I was prompted to research him a little bit more. He totally lost me when I watched a couple of videos (has a cult leader vibe when he speaks in video) and read some articles about the surgeries he partook in to make himself look younger.

I cannot recommend.
