A mixed bag of stories

A lot of these stories will only appeal to a deep fan of Jedao. The first half of this collection largely focuses on moments from his childhood and life. Some, like Extracurricular Activities, stand alone but most do not. Of the 21 stories, there are 7 that I bookmarked as interesting enough to re-read. But those 7 are absolutely spectacular!

Great followup

As most of the stories evolve around Jedao, I think it is a story targeted at those who loved the Machineries of Empire. I loved the author’s notes between the stories as well.

Good novela with too much filler

The main novella and a few of the short stories are good but a lot of the stories are snippets that don't add a lot to anything. The author's notes are interesting for the most part. The most exciting point is if the final ideas of the novella are carried through to a novel. that would be worth it, this is only for completists.
