Story
In Captive in Iran, Maryam and Marziyeh recount their 259 days in Evin. It’s an amazing story of unyielding faith - when denying God would have meant freedom. Of incredible support from strangers around the world who fought for the women’s release. And of bringing God’s light into one of the world’s darkest places - giving hope to those who had lost everything, and showing love to those in despair.

Story
This is the story of Corrie's life with her mother, her father, her siblings, and her aunts before World War II began. This book is a testament to how God prepared one family through a father's faithfulness to his Savior and the Word of God for the most sacrificial service a family could do. Beginning in the years before Corrie was born, In My Father's House paints a beautiful story from which families today can glean valuable and eternally lasting lessons.

Publisher's Summary
"After four years of hiding my faith from my family, I knew that it was time. I wrote with shaky hands, 'Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I refuse to deny him....' There was no turning back now. I had to get out of that house if I wanted to live. Was this worth risking everything for? Yes."
Rifqa Bary grew up in a devout Muslim home, obediently following her parents' orders to practice the rituals of Islam. But God was calling her to freedom and love. He was calling her to true faith. He was calling her to give up everything.
Leaving Islam for Christianity cost her more than she imagined but gave more than she could have dreamed.
Hiding in the Light is the story of Rifqa's remarkable spiritual journey from Islam to Christianity. It is also the untold story of how she ran from her father's threats to find refuge with strangers in Florida, only to face a controversial court case that reached national headlines. Most of all it is the story of a young girl who made life-changing sacrifices to follow Jesus - and who inspires us to do the same.

Rifqa's story
This is her heart felt story. She tells it from her heart, you can hear her passion and pain.
I am pained to hear of stories like these and pray someday that we will stand up for these children and support them better than we do today.

A Beautiful Story
Listen to the story of Gods redeeming grace in the life of Rifqa Bary, and be prepared to cry. It’s a beautiful story of how God reveals Himself to those who seek Him, and how He never abandons His children even through the most difficult and trying of circumstances.

Too many adjectives
From the beginning this book had so many embellishments in the dialogue, it seemed like the writer was trying to reach a certain amount of words per chapter. I kept going because I was interested the topic. I got as far as chapter 17 before I gave up. Her description of the heavy, thick green front door and the person who opened it, was just too much. If you enjoy lots of detail then you might enjoy this, but it’s not for me. Rifqa is a very brave young woman who gave up everything for her belief in Jesus, and is an inspiration to us all, no matter what faith we choose.
