The narrator is marvelous
I enjoy Catherine Aird's mysteries -- they are complex and interesting, and the personalities of the crime investigators are delightful. This narrator, however, is absolutely glorious. The voices he manifests, and the drawling, interesting, brogues and accents are spot on and add so much to the story. I'm going to track down some more of his book narrations.

Good book, poor narration
I have really enjoyed Catherine Aird’s books after discovering them on Audible, but had a hard time getting into this one. The narrator made her sound stuffy and boring when her writing is anything but. The narrator of most of the Audible Catherine Aird books, Derek Perkins is much, much better. I would recommend trying one of those if you are unfamiliar with her work.

Wonderful characterization s
The characters are fully realized, both due to the author's talent and contributions by the narrator. The mystery keeps your interest and is grounded in a realistic setting - altogether a very enjoyable experience.

Poor narrator and too many characters.
This is not my favorite Detective Sloan mystery. The characters were hard to keep straight and the narration was dreadful. The narrator used peculiar voices for some of the characters and Dr. Dabb was almost impossible to understand. Where is Derek Perkins???
I see the next audible book in this series has a different narrator so I will continue. I have enjoyed this series too much to abandon it now. Here’s hoping for a better listen next time!

Golf & Murder
This is a good British mystery by Catherine Aird, I would think this would appeal to golfers. The characters are believable and the story flows very nicely. The narrating and voices by Bruce Montague are top shape.
