Publisher's Summary
From a New York Times best-selling author: our beloved heroine battles a new evil as a strange, frightening illness takes hold of Nevermoor in this captivating and heart-pounding tale
Morrigan Crow and her friends have survived their first year as proud scholars of the elite Wundrous Society, helped bring down the nefarious Ghastly Market, and proven themselves loyal to Unit 919. Now, Morrigan faces a new, exciting challenge: to master the mysterious Wretched Arts and control the power that threatens to consume her.
But a strange and frightening illness has taken hold of Nevermoor, turning infected Wunimals into mindless, vicious Unnimals on the hunt. As victims of the Hollowpox multiply, panic spreads. And with the city she loves in a state of fear, Morrigan quickly realizes it's up to her to find a cure for the Hollowpox, even if it will put her - and everyone in Nevermoor - in more danger than she ever imagined.

Inappropriate content esp. for a children's series
I was really enjoying this series until they introduced same gender kissing, in the third book. That's not my idea of entertainment. It seems more like an attempt at indoctrination, in a children's series. I returned the entire series. To promote homosexuality is to promote pain & suffering. I will not support that. I feel for those with that challenge.

The 3rd book in the series is as good as the 1 & 2
As an adult listening to this book I throughly enjoyed this series. My 11 year loved it as much as I did and now all of his friends are asking for the series for Christmas. I thought the audible version was better than most I have heard, sometimes the voices made me chuckle. I highly recommend this series for young and old. The authors does an excellent job developing Morrigan’s character through out the series. I really hope this series continues.

Best in the series so far
The Nevermoor books just keep getting better and better. I found this to be the best book in the series so far. We get to see a lot more of the world of Nevermoor and Morrigan finally starts figuring out how to make use of her powers.
One small tidbit that I'd like to see more of in the book is the school that Morrigan goes to. It may be a good or a bad thing but unlike most "magic school" books this book takes place more in the town than the school. I'd like to have more interaction with the teachers and other students.
This book seems to be where the series is actually starting to get really interesting and I'm sure the next book will be fantastic. I don't want to spoil anything but the end of this really felt like a start to the what this series is going to become.
Gemma Whelan is one of the best narrators I've listened to. She reads different characters and creatures in unique and interesting voices that really bring out the characters.
