Great story!

Young Honey Jane Moon goes from living with her aunt and uncle at a dilapidated amusement park in South Carolina, to being the famous child actress nearly overnight. She is several years older than the teenager that she plays on her popular TV show. There are two men on the show. Dash Coogan is a surly cowboy who plays her father. Eric Dillon is a Hollywood bad boy who has no time for a teenage girl with a crush. Honey's life of ups and downs ends up being tied to both of her co-stars.

This is not Susan Elizabeth Phillips usual story, but I loved it anyway. When I first read this book nearly 20 years ago, I was prepared for SEP's trademark humor and banter. You don't get that with this book. It is a contemporary romance that has more of a women's fiction feel to it. The characters have depth to them. They are all flawed which makes them feel real. This book is also a tearjerker...so be prepared with lots of kleenex.

I decided to listen to the audiobook this time around and I'm glad I did. Nicole Poole's narration was fantastic. Each character had a distinct voice. My rating: 5 Stars.

Disappointed

I’ve loved Susan Elisabeth Phillip’s books for a long time, but the past few haven’t been up to par. I didn’t really care for the one with Georgie York, the one about the circus, or this one. The dialogue is less believable than in previous books, and no one can live up to Anna Fields as a narrator (though that’s not the author’s fault). The overall feel of this book was dark and uncomfortable, the only reason I finished it was because I hate to leave things halfway done.

Outstanding!!

Thus is a wonderful listen! Characters very interesting and complex. Excellent narration - perfect for this story. I was sad to finish this book by an amazing author.

Awfully disappointing

The story was incredibly dark, even for a romance novel, so disappointing, I've been an SEP fan for many many years but this was terrible, wanted to quit reading 3 different times, but can't leave it unfinished, ugh, never fell in love with the characters, didn't even like them, epilogue was only part of story that was ok, and the narrating was dreadful, definitely made it soooo much worse, sorry to say it but i wish I had my credit and my time back lol

More than a 5 star book

Best book I’ve listen to end a long time. Story, narration were the best. May not sound like a good book. But is soooo good. Take a chance on it You want be disappointed

Gross!!!

Spoiler: Love story between a 19 yr old virgin and almost 50 yr old man. Really?? I can’t say how gross this is. Done listening to this book — done with the author.

I wouldn't change a thing in this book. I absolutely loved it. it made me angry, happy, sad, and enchanted to the point of losing sleep until I finished it.
