The author conveyed real emotion in dealing with a personal matter that brought me to tears. Bravo! That said, the author continues to make Capt. Lawrie more and more American. Hey Dewey...get over it. The British conquered the world not the Americans (the sun never sets on the British empire). That is where the commonwealth comes from. Where is the American group of countries. Stop trying to make him American. Cold tea, corn whiskey...really? Queen Victoria beat the crap out of the Indian people for tea not coffee, not cold tea and not for bourbon. The British hooked the Chinese on heroin for tea not bourbon, coffee or cold tea. I enjoy the books but to those American readers, Dewey lambdin is sure twisting the truth. As a person from a commonwealth country, Dewey Lambdin sure sounds like a disgruntled American who wishes America had a colourful history like the British. Still, this is a good story! Cheers!
