Publisher's Summary

A full-length, stand-alone romantic comedy from USA Today best-selling author R.S. Grey.

Dr. Russell has a bad reputation around our hospital. The scrub techs say he’s cold-blooded, the nurses say he’s too cocky for his own good, and the residents say he’s the best surgeon in the world - really, just a swell guy! - on the off chance he’s within earshot.

I try to avoid him and his temper at all costs. It’s just as easy to admire his sexy, grip-it-while-he’s-ravishing-you hair and chiseled jaw from a healthy distance, preferably from the other end of the hallway...half hidden behind a plant.

Unfortunately, my plan crumbles when my trusty ol’ boss decides to swap his white coat for a Hawaiian shirt. His retirement leaves me with two terrible options: Switch specialties and spend months retraining or take an open position as Dr. Russell’s surgical assistant.

That means I have to stand near him in the OR for hours on end and anticipate his every need without letting his biting words and bad attitude intimidate me. Oh, and as if that’s not difficult enough, my silly crush on him - the one I’ve tried to stomp on until it disappears - might just be reciprocated.

It’s fine. I’m fine.

I take my job seriously. There will be no smoldering bedroom eyes across the operating table, no angry almost-kisses in the supply closet. (Well, no more of those.) What’s the phrase? An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Maybe I should go for a whole damn bushel.

I pulled an all-nighter to finish this book!

I started this audible book and just could not stop listening. I had to know what was next then next. The characters were imaginable and relatable. The content hit closer to home than I want to admit! Start to finish the allure and intensity of Matt and Bailey did not disappoint!

Read worthy

This book is really awesome. I love the doctor/assistant romance theme. It really appeals to me to re-read it. I listened to it through audiobook and loved it. Definitely worth reading or listening to.

Love

RS Grey has proven to be one of my go-to authors. I love every single book. Perfect blend of humor, substance and butterflies in the stomach. The narrators were excellent as well... delivering the lines perfectly. If you like romance comedy, you will love this.

Thoroughly Enjoyable!

This book caught me off guard. For me it was new writer and new narrators. I loved this story of Matt and Bailey. I loved their journey and how it ended. It took me a while to ease into Aubrey Vincent’s narration, but I found Lee Samuels’ to be smooth and sexy. I may go look for another book with his voice telling the story. Meanwhile, this book is totally worth the credit!

great beginning...

I loved the beginning of this book. it was so funny and promised an entertaining listen. Although the entire book was 'good' and the narration was very good, about half way through, it just became very mediocre. it was a good storyline buf just fizzled to boring for me.

Light, Flirty and Super Enjoyable

This book was so refreshing and a great read! I don’t know why I don’t read more of R.S Grey, but I certainly will now! Hotshot doc was a breath of fresh air and I loved her use of dialogue and banter. It was so well balanced, not the typical story arc that has to have the dramatic crash and burn...it has drama but I didn’t feel annoyed by it. Maybe because I loved the girls characters and there was never really any “bad”’ guy, but I was never rolling my eyes with the super predictable plot climb, twist, dump and recover. I am even a spine fusion patient...two times over in three levels! So I found it really incredible how accurate the science and technical writing was! It just left me in a good mood every time I listened. I really loved this book! Can’t wait to try another of hers!

Couldn't turn it off!

By far the best listen I think I've heard so far. Great pace, interesting character development and intriguing story line. Really enjoyed this one. I particularly like that the lead female wasn't self depreciating yet was still portrayed as vulnerable. It was a refreshing change from what I have been reading recently. Highly recommended!

struggled to finish

The story had lots of promise, but i felt it got bogged down with the immaturity ramblings of the female lead. Maybe it was just the narrator putting her spin on the story with inflection, but i could not mesh Matt and Bailey together as a love interest. Bailey felt like a teenager with a high school crush that couldn't make up her mind with a constant push and pull "No, yes, no, yes". It felt as if she wanted him to not only chase her, but force her to be with him. The story never plotted out enough of any believable character traits that warranted Matt to be so enamored with her, other that his brother wanting her first...?

Great promise of a good story, but it fell flat about 1/4 of the way in. I stuck with it hoping at some point character development/ maturity would take place, but it never did unfortunately.
