Publisher's Summary

I Will Become Queen of Luce…Or Die Trying.

People aren’t as they seem. And history…I’m still attempting to reconcile the truth with what I was previously told.

My new allies have an agenda, but I have one of my own. Though there’s overlap—we all agree Dante must die—what I desire more than anything is to return to Lore before he levels the kingdom to find me…or loses his humanity trying.

I may favor crowns over coffins, but I refuse to live in a world where my mate only exists as a bird.

Strap in for one last romantic and pulse-pounding adventure in a world governed by magic and hearts.

Questions left unanswered

I love this series so much and this book was no different. The only quarrel I have is that there are some questions that were never fully answered.

Good book overall, love interest - not so much

I really like the creativity of this book, but the male love interest tends to get on my nerves. He is so quick to lash out or lose control of his emotions, but what's worse is that he treats the female love interest like a child. As if she can't make any choices for herself, he barely takes her seriously and she's often begging for his approval. He also hides things from her while expecting her to spill all of her own secrets. And let's not forget he can literally read her mind and hasn't taught her how to keep him out of her head. I can't stand his attitude towards her (as if he owns her) and I get that they're meant to be and all that, but that's no excuse for disregarding her important insights and opinions. Her friends respect her more than he does! If this keeps up, I don't know how I'll get through the next book (I probably won't!) I honestly liked him better when he was a bird lmao. His attitude towards her is reminiscent of how women are treated IRL, which is exactly what I'd like to avoid. I see enough of that disrespect. I should disclose that I'm writing this at chapter 40 something, so maybe this will change, but this is the second book (i think?), so I was expecting that to come WAY sooner. I should also mention some things I like about the book, though. At the top of the list are the spicy scenes, the author really goes into detail. In those scenes, he really cares about what she wants. Like I said before, the creativity is another thing I like, it is what I expect when getting into a fantasy series. Definitely not a bad book, I just have higher standards when it comes to relationships. Happy reading!
