This book is aimed at pre-teens (our hero is 12), but it’s a well-crafted and sometimes dawn story about Henry Lemarchand: who moved to Philly as a child with his widowed mother, only to be sent back to his homeland swamps for the summer to learn more about his heritage.

And what a heritage! The Lemarchands are root-crafters (teeth magic), and are champions of safety in the Louisiana Bayou…where all types of monster, demon and beastie abide.

Josh Hurley does a great job for Audible, and Dan Jolley has crafted a nifty little cast of characters. I’m definitely hoping for a sequel or three!
