À propos de cet audio

God is great-for your mental, physical, and spiritual health. Based on new evidence culled from brain-scan studies and a wide-reaching survey of people's religious and spiritual experiences, neuroscientist Andrew Newberg, MD, and therapist Mark Robert Waldman offer the following breakthrough discoveries: Not only do prayer and spiritual practice reduce stress, but just 12 minutes of meditation per day may slow down the aging process. Contemplating a loving God rather than a punitive God reduces anxiety and depression and increases feelings of security, compassion, and love. Intense prayer and meditation permanently change numerous structures and functions in the brain, altering your values and the way you perceive reality. Both a revelatory work of modern science and a practical guide for listeners to enhance their physical and emotional health, How God Changes Your Brain is a first-of-a-kind book about faith that is as credible as it is inspiring.

It was not what I thought it was. The title grabbed me and I have been listening to it for the past couple of weeks, but, seriously he looses in me in all the numbers. Nothing in the title gave the impression that it would just be a book of statistics. I thought there were be more thought provoking dialogue/monologue. My brain gets lots in numbers although some of it was very eye opening and informative.

if you like stats and numbers you'll love this

How God changes your brain is a fascinating and insightful read that delves into the chemistry and biology of how we are designed by God to thrive when we pursue Him. While it is written with a naturalistic and perhaps pantheistic approach, I highly appreciate and respect the authors for their knowledge and experience in their field. This book may lack the apologetic prowess for answering the question of whether God exists - for that I highly recommend Christian Apologetics, Revised Edition by Douglas Groothuis, - and it displays some bias in their testing, but the illustrations and psychological observations are eye-opening and supremely useful for daily life. It beautifully demonstrates the truth that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. I recommend this book to anyone interested in counselling or psychology. Truly, God has placed eternity in the hearts of men.
