I made the mistake of getting this book, thinking it was about how electricity, water filtration, transportation, and other infrastructural systems work. It's not. This book is a collection of sappy musings about colonialism, climate change, and gender. My takeaway from the book is that the author feels privileged, and she enjoys visiting hydroelectric dams.
