This is not a book to comfort those going through suffering or bereavement. Its purpose is to give Christians a thorough and thoughtful understanding of suffering and evil that's consistent with the Bible. Then, when suffering and evil strike, as they inevitably will, believers aren't overwhelmed. Ill-considered and incorrect expectations greatly intensify our pain in suffering. Well-considered and biblically accurate expectations help us in our times of need.

I found this audiobook very interesting. The theology was much deeper than what you would get in most Christian books. I slowed down the delivery so that I could contemplate what Carson was sharing. while the book is fascinating I'll have to listen again to truly fathom some of the concepts.
