Some pretty good advice
- By Ian S. Gallant on 2018-09-10
Binge-worthy and ridiculously thoughtful
It's so refreshing to think about fatherhood specifically when thinking about parenting generally. Stephen is no regular podcaster working on the fly. Each episode feels like a personal essay in its flow. It's written as a story and not a litany of facts, peppered with personal experience to keep it engaging. All the scariest topics- porn, cellphones, post-baby sex, time-spent etc. etc. are covered in ways that freaked me out then somehow reassured me that there were answers and solutions somewhere out there and that my kid, husband and myself are living through fantastic, messy and awkward times.
Totally the best podcast I've listened to in forever, what can I say...

It saved my relationship!!!!!!!
This book came to my email on a day that I was fighting with my boyfriend, like we do all the time!!! I wanted to stop this. I love him and he does love me too, so I prayed for wisdom and this came to me.

Great info, terrible narration
I genuinely enjoyed the information provided. However, I have to admit my brain will challenge itself to remember the information provided over the narrator’s infuriating upward inflections at the end of nearly every sentence. Also the first few episodes are fluffy and weak.

Marriage hopeful single
This series is so powerful... Having gone through a long term relationship but not quite making it the whole way and blaming most of the strife on my Ex this series opened me up to a lot of realities I had been thinking about but not really sat to disect and digest. Loved it so much I wish there were more topics of life like adultung, parenting, financial futures, friendships mental health, all the good stuff done in the most beautiful way

Biggest take away
“You only really need a wedding if you shouldn’t have one and you only need to get married if you don’t need to”. This really hit home because for the longest time i thought i never wanted to get married, when in fact i just don’t want to get married just to prove something.

Interesting Views on Marriage
This was a series about marriage and various stages including: the wedding, living together, sex, money, divorce and even death. It left out one major option, the decision to have kids. This just assumed like most that everyone wants kids and the option not to would never come up. I consider that a major issue since the presenter claimed he was presenting varied viewpoints. It included comments from real couples and experts on relationships.

Great listening
Loved the information and details and yes it's focused on marriage and staying together because it's about marriage not focused on divorce.
It's honest and direct, offering tools that can be tucked away for events that will happen in a marriage.
