Great introduction sound mixing!

If you are someone that acts in a consultant type role for situations that involve audio, where you either just need to know the basics for operation,

OR

you need to hire audio technicians and videographers

then

this is the book for you!

Personally I am an event planner, and as such we need to know enough about audio to understand what questions to ask when hiring audio technicians and renting equipment.

Many event planners will not go anywhere near the sound booth, or understand what the issue might be that is happening during an event, and just run to the technician to solve it. What makes this worse for the technician is the issue has not been communicated in a way that the technician can effectively respond to, resulting in a lot of trial and error.

But what if you knew enough to work a sound mixer for a small event, to solve problems, communicate effectively with a technician, and have intelligent conversations with both your client and audiovisual vendor?

That is what I enjoyed so much about this book is that it walks you through not only what the different aspects of audio mixing are, all the controls on the audio mixer and how they work, but solutions to the most common issues that could be the difference between a horrible attendee experience and a minor issue that is resolved quickly.

If you are an event planner and you have been afraid to learn anything about audio in the past, then you need to make the small investment in this book, and then go out and apply the concepts.

All the best with your events in the future!
