Dale Carnegie GOLD - But definitely dated wording therefore amusing however relevant
In many places it is obvious they have gone to Great lengths to make this book relevant for today. But there are a few places where it is quite jarringly obvious they have not. In these places. the book is quite hilarious. For example, when a man references that he simply sits down reads the paper and 15 minutes later breakfast appears in front of him. This is a different time and place where one breadwinner could simply wait for his wife to serve him breakfast. This is quite hysterical.
The book is well written and the excerpts from Dale Carnegie's radio show are well told. There are several times when the language and the pacing of the story harkens back to an earlier age. This is not a bad thing. He reminds us of what we have lost as a society and what we should strive to bring back.
This is a great companion book to Dale Carnegie 's "how to win friends and influence people" - which I highly recommend you read!!
All of the lessons are 100% relevant to 2025 and Beyond. We all need to learn to value ourselves and value others and value the world around us. A valuable book and a great read/listen.
