Publisher's Summary

Meditation makes you more productive because it lets you earn back time. For each minute you spend meditating, you'll earn around nine minutes back, as Chris Bailey - author of The Productivity Project and Hyperfocus - will show in this candid and counter-intuitive guide to the productivity benefits of meditation.

How to Train Your Mind digs deep into the practical, tactical benefits of a meditation practice - and how to integrate a meditation ritual into your own life. In addition to calming your mind and allowing you to slow down in an overanxious world, research shows that meditation can de-stimulate your mind so you can think more clearly, procrastinate less, and be more effective at everything you do - at work and at home.

Featuring guided meditations designed to fit your busy, unpredictable schedule, How to Train Your Mind is the ideal guide for anyone looking to improve productivity without sacrificing time. While much has been written about the spiritual and intangible benefits of meditation, as far as our productivity is concerned, meditation is in a league all its own.

The motivation you might need to try meditation

Good book to listen to if you, or a friend, needs some motivation to try meditation. Interesting examples and facts, and Chris is a compelling storyteller.

Thank you.

I’am grateful for this book. I have been trying to learn how to meditate while navigating life and university. I have now the tools to do so. I have started my meditation journey and so far I’m glad I did.

Short and Effective

I listen to most of my audiobooks at 1.2x pace.(except for the meditations,) so it was likely shorter for me than most folks.

I listened to one episode a day and it gave me time to really think about what was said and in some cases implement changes or try new techniques.

I would definitely recommend this

To the point advice on how to start a meditation practice

I love the simplicity of this book and how to implement a meditation practicing your life just simply focus on your breathing and if your thoughts wander just gently return to focusing on your breathing, this is a must read for those that need meditation and everybody needs to meditate

Cranbrook!!

I found this introduction rather captivating and easy to follow and understand, but then you brought up my childhood hometown, Cranbrook, and oh boy did I ever chuckle!
this audio was like listening to a friend speak, relaxing. and before I even realized it, I was the most energized and productive I'd been in weeks getting my home organized.
Brilliant and Engaging and Entertaining !

Highly recommended

For years, I have started then stopped meditating because I either saw the beni fits and did not feel like continuing as the benefits at the time were enough or had just too little success to do it.

This book also shows how meditation is part of being productivity and that they are correlated especially if the readers do knowledge work such as IT, desk jobs, management roles which are usually repetitive.

I was skeptical

To be honest, I went into this thinking it was not going to be friendly for the ADHD brain. However, in my first listen through it seems it might be compatible for how my brain works. I gave it 4/5 stars because I was distracted through some of it (irony is not lost on me). I will relisten and do the meditation practice and see how I feel about my rating after that.
