Publisher's Summary

He's big.

He's sexy.

And he's hung.

The first time I met Pick Revere I tried to bash his head in with a baseball bat. The second time, I kissed the ever-loving daylights out of him on a dare. For a girl who's on the lam and hiding from her cop ex, I'm failing miserably at laying low. Instead, I'm going up in delicious flames — because Pick's the hottest, roughest, toughest bad boy firefighter I've ever laid eyes (or lips) on. He promises he has a big hose - and knows how to use it. I'd investigate, but I need my job as a cook at the fire camp. I'm supposed to serve my hotshot breakfast — not me. I'm supposed to keep my secrets. And I'm definitely supposed to stay single.

But I'm not prepared for what happens after our kiss. Pick's magnetic and dangerous. He's short-term fun — not Mr. Commitment. But then he volunteers to be my muscle when my douche ex tracks me down. And I shouldn't want more than that.

But I do.

I should run as fast as I could from Pick.

But I won't.

Because he sets me on fire and you know what they say about firefighters — the hotter you get, the faster they come. How's a gal to say no?

This full-length standalone from New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Anne Marsh is full of dirty swoonworthy hotshot firefighters that know how to use their hoses and who are about to learn how to use their hearts. This novel was originally published as a much shorter and tamer novella by eKensington and has been completely rewritten. The audiobook is twice as big...and so are the hoses.

Hotshot

Hung is the 1st book in Marsh’s Mister Hotshot series. The books don’t have to be read in order. I read the second book in the series first and I was glad that I did as there were several scenes that were mentioned in Hung that had more context in The Big One.

Hung was fun read with some humour thrown in. Pick is a hero that likes the ladies but has never given his heart. It was fun watching him fall in love and seeing how the realization changed his view and actions. Both Pick and Sarah Jo were relatable characters, especially Pick in terms of his feelings for Sarah Jo and how different that was from his previous experiences.

I did have a problem connecting with the characters at times and especialling in terns of the subplot – the ex chasing Sarah Jo. I didn’t like when the characters “talked” to the audience. For me it felt like there was something missing.

I consumed the book as an audio and enjoyed the narrators. They did a good job of voicing the characters.

Thoughts

Loved the concept but OH MY GOD! WAY to much inner monologues. And to top it off when Sarah Jo should have been freaking out, at least a little she did nothing. And the narrator talked through it like nothing significant was going down. I got so irritated. With it the I skipped to the very ending by the end of chapter four.

Steamy 🔥

It’s a steamy story with a storyline that builds nicely, what I didn’t like was all the internal dialogues. Internal dialogues is good but not when it’s to much, I tend to get lost 🤷🏻‍♀️

Narrators is good, the pronunciation is clear and they read with feelings.

Really wanted to love...

I picked up for Rose Dioro (love her!) The male narrator's female voice made me cringe! Otherwise, pretty good read!

I listened to "The Big One" and I never go wrong with Rose and Jacob Morgan.

Internal dialogues is too long and I get lost....

I tried to get through each chapter but to much inner dialog that I was lost - tried to listen while working but lost interest, it went on and on and on..... couldn't finish. Narrators were great though, not their fault the story dragged....

Male narrator is awful!

Male narrator sounds like a high school jock and CANNOT do anything near a woman's voice. it sounds creepy and is eye rolling. not a great story either. good sex scenes, but not enough depth to make you believe these two are in love.

NOT ENOUGH DIALOGUE

Too much internal debate and not enough interaction between characters. Made a cool story idea kind of boring.
