Publisher's Summary

Larkin is tired of her friends constantly trying to play Cupid. Just because they are all happily mated doesn't mean she needs to be. And she definitely doesn't need the over-protective men in her life vetting potential partners for her. In a bid to get them off her back, the harpy turns to the one person she knows they would never approve of...

Teague Sullivan. Explicitly sexy and unquestionably alpha male, the mysterious hellhorse is the perfect candidate for a fake relationship. More than happy to spend time with the pretty harpy, Teague agrees. But when a wager is made between them, and things start to heat up, Larkin can't seem to ignore their explosive chemistry - and neither can her demon.

But when old and new dangers creep up on them, and Teague's shady past starts to ring alarm bells; he must decide whether to trust Larkin completely or risk losing her forever.

Excellent addition to the series

fabulous story, and excellent addition to the Dark in You series. the characters have great personalities, that draw you right in. the snarky comments are fun and keep you waiting for more. Suzanne Wright has done it again with this amazing series. Cannot wait for more.

Keep this series coming.

I love this series so much ( and the author ). And this book was so good! We have been waiting for years for Larkin and Teague together. There personalities are so difficult but together they are amazing. Larkin’s demon cracked me up so much. I also loved meeting Teague’s clan and I hope to see more of them in the future. I also loved the little tease for our next couple and I can’t wait for Ella and Viper’s book.

Loved it!

Truthfully, there is no book of Suzanne's that I havem't loved. I mean, her characters are funny, quirky, sexy, and dangerous among a few things and this one was no different. (The summary will give you the description of the story)

Larkin and Teague were perfectly matched with one another. She was serious and focused, he is mysterious and relaxed..together, they were funny and goofy while also being deadly and lethal. The scene stealer in this book was Larkin's demon. The demon alone was crazy as hell, but too funny to be terrifying and Teague's response to it was hilarious. There were times where I wanted to read more about the demon and its antics. Between Larkin's demon and Khloe, you could laugh for days.

I enjoyed the story and characters as always. We get to visit the previous characters and get updates.
It's like visiting family again. Suzanne leaves you finishing a book and immediately wanting to read the next one.

Not here best work but still good

Narrator, as always, was good, but the book itself doesn't match previous ones in caliber. So far, I'd say Hunted is the weakest link in The Dark in You series, but still decent.

My new favorite demon is here!

Larkin’s demon is really something else. I love how Larkin and her Demon were were the ones leading their relationship and really staking claim on what they wanted and luring Teague into a whole real relationship without him even realizing they were keeping him! Typically we see the MMC being all possessive of the FMC in this series so it was nice to have to switch up. Loved the Demon’s collector mindset and casual brutality. So bad*ss and easily my new favorite of the bunch!

A fun story to wrap up the series

“𝚈𝚘𝚞’𝚟𝚎 𝚗𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚒𝚗 𝚊 𝚛𝚎𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚙.”
“𝙸 𝚌𝚊𝚖𝚎 𝚌𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚒𝚝 𝚘𝚗𝚌𝚎.”
“𝚁𝚎𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢? 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚎𝚗𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎?”

𝙴𝚡𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊 𝚜𝚊𝚍 𝚜𝚒𝚐𝚑, 𝚑𝚎 𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚍 𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚌𝚞𝚙 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛. “𝙽𝚘𝚝 𝚖𝚞𝚌𝚑. 𝚂𝚑𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙸 𝚍𝚒𝚍𝚗’𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚖𝚞𝚌𝚑 𝚒𝚗 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚖𝚘𝚗. 𝙸’𝚖 𝚕𝚘𝚞𝚍 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚜𝚘𝚌𝚒𝚊𝚕. 𝚂𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚎𝚝 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚒𝚗𝚏𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚎. 𝙸𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚗𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚐𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚔 𝚘𝚞𝚝.”

This book wasn't perfect but I had so much darn fun reading it! The MMC Teague is just a big, playful, flirty, weird, clueless himbo - and his banter with Larkin was great. Teague was described as the bro version of Khloé but that's not totally accurate - he's his own special brand of bonkers.

| grumpy fmc-sunshine mmc | fauxmance2romance | tall fmc | competent fmc | flirty mmc | banter |

○ The fake dating premise is a bit weak - but isn't it always? I like this trope, so I just rolled with it. 🤪
○ Larkin wasn't super compelling on her own - she plays the "comedic foil" - and it's tricky to make that type of character interesting. But! Her demon totally made up for it. The demon was completely unhinged, and had an enthusiasm for violence that was almost childlike. (Which makes sense, considering her issues.)
○ Like all the MMCs Suzanne wrights (haha), Teague is dominant in spicy scenes, but not in the bossy way most of them have. Instead, he has a sort of steamroller style that was unique and 🥵. (Everything is consenting ofc.)
○ Nobody really rescues each other. As you'd expect, both of them are powerful and hold their own.
○ I found Teague's pack kind of annoying but they grew on me by the end.
○ Teague was clueless about relationships, which was funny, but dragged on too long.
○ It can be read standalone, just be aware there are a lot of side characters at this point.
○ As usual, Cat Doucette isn't my favorite narrator, but as usual, it doesn't stop me from listening.

could have been better

I love this series and had great expectations for this book. It was just okay so I was a bit disappointed. Parts of this book were boring. I long for the drama. action, and anticipation which Suzanne Wright usually has in her books but this fell a little flat. Bring it back please! Look forward to Ella's story...
