I really need to stop giving this author more chances but for whatever reason I keep downloading books, only to be 20 chapters in, get frustrated and realize who the author is, immediately regretting my choice of book and carry on listening hoping I am not disappointed at the end. Which I was.

I find this author’s books always run the same way: there are a bunch of different points of views but the ones I’ve read so far or listened to always revolve around one neurotic mother whose only thought is to make things better for her child or children even if it means covering up a crime so that they don’t go to jail and by crime I mean murder.

This book was no different. It has way too many chapters that just seems so unnecessary that I started skipping after chapter 19.

This is the second book by this author that I’ve listened to where a young female influencer gets killed by way of strangulation with a scarf (that is missing from the crime scene and cops are looking for) and neurotic mom finds said scarf and wants to get rid of it to “protect” her child, when really they are only protecting themselves and their status quo. I think the author needs new inspiration.

Nearly every main character in this book ended up needing to go to jail it was so twisted
