Then Chelsea is forced to acknowledge that her life stopped after her mother died and that the last time she can remember being happy, in love, or enjoying her life was on her year abroad.

Story
Sixty-nine-year-old Arthur Pepper lives a simple life. He gets out of bed at precisely 7:30 a.m., just as he did when his wife, Miriam, was alive. He dresses in the same gray slacks and mustard sweater-vest; waters his fern, Frederica; and heads out to his garden. But on the one-year anniversary of Miriam's death, something changes. Sorting through Miriam's possessions, Arthur finds an exquisite gold charm bracelet he's never seen before.

What the critics say
"McMillan is a gifted storyteller… The cast of characters enriches the narrative, bringing nuance and clarity to scenes and moving the plot along…. Georgia’s story reminds readers who have clocked a lot of living that it’s never too late to reconnect and reflect on the past as they craft the future they want."—Fort Worth Star Telegram
"The ripple effects from Terry McMillan’s breakthrough in contemporary African-American fiction still influence our daily lives... [I Almost Forgot About You is] much in the same vein of McMillan’s other novels that track Black women’s journeys through self-discovery."—BLAC Detroit
"McMillan is a master at her craft. Without a doubt, this book will be a hit with anyone who feels stuck in life and is ready to make a move. McMillan has done it again. Get this book and read about Georgia’s journey. This is another book that should be on everyone’s reading list."—The Baton Rouge Advocate

Relatable to Men and Women
I love this novel. All of us dream about the “what if” and the “what could of beens” and Terry help us see through the eyes of Georgia that life is what we want it to be. We have to take down the barriers we create for ourselves and decide to live and flourish and love freely. A good page turner that entertains and enlightens.

Love..Love..Love this book
If you are a fan of Terry McMillan this book does not disappoint. Her tone of each character had me laughing , crying at my desk at work. Initially thought that book was too long, but when it came to an end I was longing for more.... 5 stars all the way!!

One long run on sentence
Narrator kind of ruins this story. It’s read like one run on sentence. Can’t tell who’s who in the story and that makes or breaks the enjoyment. It’s very monotone. Stopped listening after four chapters.
