This is, to me, about the most fun you can have in the old Star Wars Expanded Universe. I, Jedi is really several books crammed into one. It's the continuation of the Coran Horn arc as well as a successful attempt at making sense out of a promising, yet unsatisfying series of books called The Jedi Academy Trilogy. These books by Kevin Anderson were the first books on Luke's forming of a new Jedi order. They were kind of a mess full of good ideas. I, Jedi retells the JKA trilogy with Coran Horn thrown into the mix. This was also the last EU book to be released before the incredible New Jedi Order series. The Force willing. all 19 of those books with make the Essential Collections Audiobook series.

First of all, Marc Thompson is always a treat. I really don't think I would have enjoyed this book half as much if he wasn't the narrator. I was interested in reading a book where a former CorSec Officer becomes a Jedi to rescue his wife. This book is 70% barely attempting to rescue his wife, 15% lusting after other women, and 15% Jedi stuff, which was the fun part.

It's easy to tell how dated this book is, because whenever a woman shows up our protagonist must inform us of how attractive he finds her on a scale of 1-to-10. But never more attractive than his wife, obviously (eyeroll). Not to mention the supposedly terrifying female antagonist acts like a BDSM dominatrix who wants to have sex with him, and literally carries a whip around. And a final note on this, the words "budding adolescent breasts" are used to describe how he knew that an alien girl was still a child, so, that's kinda gross but it only shows up once for what it's worth.

I think Stackpole might have been writing the last half of the novel with one hand.

Not that there is anything wrong with it but super gay for a very spright guy and no issues in this day and age just make the guy a gay no one cares i have one gay kid but cone don’t make starwrs. Gay and if its going be make it slight up no one cares any more no political statements needed come on its star wars
