Story
Minnie Cooper knows two things with certainty: that her New Year's birthday is unlucky, and that it's all because of Quinn Hamilton, a man she's never met. Their mothers gave birth to them at the same hospital just after midnight on New Year's Day, but Quinn was given the cash prize for being the first baby born in London in 1990 - and the name Minnie was meant to have, as well. With luck like that, it's no wonder each of her birthdays has been more of a disaster than the one before.

You always remember your first love. Don't you? It began with four words. "I love your laugh." But that was 12 years ago. It really began the day Georgina was fired from The Worst Restaurant in Sheffield (TripAdvisor) and found The Worst Boyfriend in the World (Georgina's best friends) in bed with someone else. So when her new boss, Lucas McCarthy, turns out to be the boy who wrote those words to her all that time ago, it feels like the start of something. The only problem? He doesn't seem to remember Georgina at all.

At the retreat, she's not allowed to use her real name or reveal any personal information. Can you fall in love like they do in the movies? It's Evie Summers' job to find out. Because if she can't convince her film agency's biggest client, Ezra Chester, to write the romantic-comedy screenplay he owes producers, her career will be over. The catch? He thinks rom-coms are unrealistic - and he'll only put pen to paper if Evie shows him that it's possible to meet a man in real life the way it happens on the big screen. Cynical Evie might not believe in happily ever after, but she'll do what it takes to save the job that's been her lifeline.

Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family.

Publisher's Summary
What if Mr Right was right in front of you all along?
The laugh out loud new romantic comedy from the Sunday Times best-selling author.
When Ros comes home after three years away, she’s ready to pick up with life exactly where she left it. But her friends have moved on, her parents have rekindled their romance and her bedroom is now a garden shed. All of a sudden, she’s swept up in nostalgia for the way things were. Then her phone begins to ping, with messages from her old life. Including one number she thought she’d erased for good – the man who broke her heart.
Is this her second chance at one big love? Sometimes we all want to see what we’ve been missing....
What the critics say
"The literary equivalent of opening a bottle of wine with your best friend. Her best yet, funny and emotional, I loved it." (Mhairi McFarlane, best-selling author of If I Never Met You)
"Swoops you up and fills your heart with such joy." (Giovanna Fletcher, best-selling author of Some Kind of Wonderful and Eve of Man)
"In Case You Missed It isn’t just Lindsey Kelk’s funniest and most relatable book, it might be the funniest and most relatable of ALL BOOKS EVER. I laughed and cried with every chapter, I never wanted it to end. I guarantee you joy with this book and cannot recommend it enough." (Lucy Vine, best-selling author of Are We Nearly There Yet)

Good rebound book
This is one of those books you read to get over reading a truly terrible book. It’s wholly predictable, but a cute story with no stress. The characters are fun, although Roz seems to be a thinly-veiled attempt to recapture Bridget Jones. One character whose name is pronounced like “Sue Me” is - no kidding - a lawyer, so expect some silliness. There’s also a scene in which a couple breaks into a private garden that seems nearly lifted from Notting Hill. So, don’t expect a lot of originality, and you’ll have a pleasant read of this one.

a cute, fun listen.
I like the silly situations that Lindsay Kelk tends to get her characters into. She's one of the first authors I usually Google when I'm looking for a new book. I actually really enjoyed the main character's, Ros' friends. I think I would be fun to do a spin-off of them. They are the group of friends that you always wish that you had- consistent, fun, supportive, always showing up exactly when needed.
the story itself was okay, nothing super exciting or page turning. Of course you root for the main character, and thankfully Lindsay's main characters are never totally stupid like other chic lit characters tend to be where you're frustrated by their actions.
I thought her having feelings for another man but still sleeping with another was a bit bothersome. I just don't understand how some people can be so promiscuous, but that's just me and my high moral ground. I think it's worth a listen if you're just cleaning out your closet, like I was, and want something to entertain you.

Fun story from an author I have been binging
I have listened to “one in a million” and “on a night like this” prior to “in case you missed it”. I preferred those two to this one, but I still liked it and will keep my binge going. I like how the love interests in all of these novels have been interesting and sort of straight forward. I was listening to another author before this and she would write the characters to be so perfect for each other but make it take forever for them to admit it… and for some reason I didn’t like it. I like the themes of friendship and self evaluation.

Enjoyable Women's Fiction
I won a copy of In Case You Missed It by Lindsey Kelk and am glad that I did. I don’t know if I would have purchased the audiobook otherwise (which was very well done). I enjoyed this women’s fiction novel. It does contain some mature content and a fair amount of language, but overall it is well written and an enjoyable story. I could relate to Ros and her struggles and enjoyed watching her learn and grow as she returned to her childhood home and confronted ghosts from her past.

really predictable
The overall story was a good one. But SO predictable. There is absolutely nothing that will have you second guess exactly where this story goes. A handful of chuckle-out-loud moments, and the characters are likable enough. But ... it was just okay. If you need a story of finding oneself and you don’t want twists and turns ... this is your book.
