Mine sweeping and life ashore

More than the Mediterranean, this is the story of mine sweeping in the English Channel, joining the convoy to Sicily and D Day, but more so it's the story of the crew from her captain to the newest midshipman and regular seamen. Lives lost at sea and at home, and love found. The narrator does a terrific job with assorted accents and makes this title a pleasure to read.

A great listen.

This book was hard to “put down”. The narration is excellent. The narrator did a great job on accents including Canadian. (I listened to a book on the Canadians at Ortona and written by a Canadian where the narrator pronounced lieutenant the USA way and screwed up every Canadian “conversation” by sounding like the people were from Arkansas.) in my opinion, this book captures the real life in the navy at war, not some glorified fiction.
