Publisher's Summary

From Ed and Lorraine Warren, the demonologists featured in The Conjuring horror films, comes the story of the most terrifying case of demonic possession in the United States. It became the basis for the hit film The Haunting in Connecticut starring Virginia Madsen. Shortly after moving into their new home, the Snedeker family is assaulted by a sinister presence that preys one-by-one on their family. Exhausting all other resources, they call up the world-renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren, who have never encountered a case as frightening as this.

No one had warned the Snedekers their new house used to be an old funeral home. Their battle with an inexplicable and savage phenomena had only just begun. What started as a simple poltergeist escalated into a full-scale war, an average American family battling the deepest, darkest forces of evil a war this family could not afford to lose.

Intriguing

Amazing story, unbelievable details and very scary... hard a hard time keeping up with the timing, too many remarks on each comment the actual members of the family said, but overall shockingly evil...

Classic paranormal story

Excellent job (as always) from Todd Haberkorn. Probably the best voice actors out there.

Story itself starts a bit slow but grows more and more suspenseful as it goes on.

Worth the listen if you are a fan of paranormal stories or a fan of horror. One of the better stories from The Warrnes library.

Best book of the Warren series

Out of all the Warren books, this one is the best. The story is well written and a slow burn with a climatic ending. The narration is fantastic.

Off topic, but either the story isn't true at all, or the Snedekers are the worst parents. First they don't believe their children (all of them) even though they are having experiences themselves. Screaming at their child, who had cancer, that he was lying all the time. Being downright mean to him. They have that child committed even. But then they don't even bother moving when they do finally, finally admit it, using the whole "we don't have the money". Sorry, but I wouldn't rather live in my car or a motel than watch my child be raped by demons. So that part is frustrating to read. I felt angry for their children.

A great scare

I'm familiar with this story as I've seen it on paranormal shows before, but the book gives more creepy details. The performance by the narrator was also great. Don't listen to it at night!

I've listened to all of Ed & Lorraine Warren's book. This one has been my favorite! I was scared and on the edge of my seat. If you like scary stories or are deciding between this book and another, get this one! You won't regret it!

I Had SERIOUS Issues With the Story

First, let me just say, I LOVE THIS KIND OF STUFF!

This story, however, had me really REALLY PISSED at Carmen and Al.

Not ONCE would they listen to what their children were saying. And even though they themselves were experiencing terrifying phenomena, both Al and Carmen continued to belittle, dismiss and punish their children.
The two people in the world who are supposed to PROTECT their children were the two most responsible for continued trauma.
If this story is true, I really, REALLY hope these two have taken parenting classes, and I pray these children received psychiatric help to recover.
If it's just a story...THESE ARE SOME DUMB-ASS PEOPLE!!

Excellent account for the Haunting in Connecticut!

I love reading or watching accounts of Ed and Lorraine Warren! This book gives you a glimpse of how their work helps others. More than that, when you look at the time line paired with what the family went through, how terrible. The movie moved so quickly that this books gives you a greater understanding of how the family was assaulted. It gave me an even greater appreciation for what not only Ed and Lorraine do, but the priests who are called on to fight the true evil monsters.

Catholic one true Church even demons agree

This was such a great good vs evil story. exorcisms and possessions can only be overcome by an ordain priest from the one true Church. the catholic church. anyone or anything else doing battle will be fiction or loose. i am so blessed to be catholic. and the warrens are a living testemet to its truth. as of this writing ed warren has passed away. i pray that another couple or person will have the courage to take his place. lorain thank u for the gift of yourself and your beloved husband. your love as a catholic sarcremtally married couple gave u more power in doing battle. but i so respect that u always knew your limits and called in the church. your Catholic faith has made my faith stronger. i know it brought others to believe in the power Jesus handed over to his church is objective truth. meaning the church of Catholicism has the truth and just because one may questions it doesn't make it any less true. .blessings. ...
