I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. I also didn’t expect to she’s a couple tears. I honestly really just loved this book. I wish there were another 5 chapters at least though!! I don’t want to give anything away but I wanted more story lol.

i was hesitant to start this book because of reviews but i am so glad i gave it a chance! it was hot as hell but also had a good story and that ending… i can honestly say i got goosebumps from happiness and reared up at the end. the ending is left open which i am not a huge fan of BUT it still gave enough that you get that HEA and leave happy. this was my first book from JA Huss and i really enjoyed it. i also loved all the narrators!

While I was doing paperwork, I decided to listen to this audiobook, I thought it was going to be an easy, light "read". Boy, was I mistaken!!! This book had everything! The angst, steamy sex scenes, and deep emotions! It was a rollercoaster ride!
The sex was beyond hot - be aware: there are MM scenes. While it's not my go-to sex kink, this was well written! The chemistry was dripping in every letter, very good.
The angst got to me and, again, I don't especially like angst in books but this was incredibly well-doled out. I had an honest-to-goodness cry at the end - it was deeply emotional and hit me straight in the solar plexus with the feels.
The narrators were fantastic! The story was fantastic! It was just fantastic!

honestly the story feels pretty shallow, meaningless and dirty at the begging, but the more you get in to it the more the begging makes sense... when everything is lost and you have nothing left why not indulge. I enjoy JA Huss writing very much, but her endings always leave me wanting more of the end. like I been robbed of the ending but its probably just me.

I couldn’t turn it off! I had to know what the end result was going to be and it did not disappoint. Hell I even had it playing in the school pick up line mind you on a much lower volume and not with my daughter in the car. I look forward to finding more books by this author that I can use to escape my every day reality!

You ever read one of those books that makes you question yourself?

You know, like question your ethics and morality and the fact that you're getting a sick feeling from reading the book and yet still keep reading it. that can happen with JA Huss. In fact that happens a lot with her books.

She has a way of creating characters that skirt the edge of what is acceptable human behavior with most people. Yet if you hang in a little bit, let s*** unfold and act like a voyeur or an observer, almost every single one of them has an underbelly of altruism.

And of course they're all horny af.

As usual from this author you can expect a random overly detailed pondering of an interior design element. JA Huss really does love a good design moment.

Because you know, it's not just a bed with pillows, it's a bed with freaking designer yellow velvet pillows and the pondering of why women use them, because you know that's something a Hitman would get all up in his head about.

I'm intentionally not spelling out the story in this one, but it's an interesting one.

Short form is you can expect hot sex scenes (like all the chili peppers plus an extra on top), morally black characters, 180s because JAH is the M Night Shamylen of smut , an out of nowhere spiritual perspective that will actually make sense to you and... an HEA

Overall a good ride if not an uncomfortable one.

Captivating story line but I do wish the ending was more flushed out. I suppose that is the romantic in me.
