Narrator improved
Narrator’s tone and character voices have improved since the previous novel but Kimberly is still missed

number 12 in a life journey
I have been enjoying the journey from a black and white moral view to one that includes 50 shades of grey.

Good but.....
I love the Anita Blake series but where is Kimberly? Really don’t like this narrator. Her pronunciation of some words is really starting to gripe.

Good book bad narrator.
Love the book extremely disappointed in the narator. All the characters sounded the same so it was hard to keep track of who was speaking.

Bring back Kimberly Alexis.
I love the Anita Blake series. But the narrator makes it so hard for me to enjoy them. I cant stand listening to her. She doesnt do the accents correctly and makes almost no difference in the character's voices. Jean Claude is French. Why does she have him sounding English? She even mispronounces a lot of the words. She is better this time than in the last book but not by much. She does not compare to Kimberly Alexis. Please bring her back.

Love this series!!!
I LOVE the Anita Blake series. But the narrator doesn't make me think "yeah, that sounds like Anita."

Not her best
First of all they changed narrators as of book 11. The original narrator was incredible. She gave every character their own unique voice, The narrator is not nearly as good. She did a better job than in book 11. Some characters sound different but Jean Claude has a terrible voice in this audible. Enough of that. The story leaves a lot to be desired. First this audio book is 27 hours long. There is maybe 5 hours of real plot in there. The rest of the story is Anita and her increasing love life and fighting with everyone around her. Fights with Nathaniel, Richard, Jean Claude, cops she works with and so on. I think the only one she never fights with is Micah. I fast forward most of the sex scenes and that cut a lot out of the story. I had hoped this story would be better in audio than book but it was not. I read the story five years ago and hoped it would seem better now. It did not. Sorry

Horrible Narrator
LOVED this book! The narrator however, not at all. She made EVERY man's voice soft and feminine. Why?! Why does every man speak softer than Anita. It was extremely awkward during the sexy bits.😕 Also some of the pronunciations, like "weerwolf" were awful. It distracted from the story.

Disappointment
You should have the same narrator read all the books of a series. Disappointing to say the least.

Disappointed
It was 20 years between books in this series. I READ all of the previous titles back in the day. I had more time then. One of my priorities when finally getting Audible was to catch up with my favorite Vamp Executioner. This book was the next in the series and I made it my firs download. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m older, but I found the majority of this book tedious. If you cut out all of the sec in its various forms that Anita has this book would have only been an hour in length. Where is the Anita I remember? Kicking ass and dealing death to the baddies? Instead our hero moves from one sexual encounter to the next, bedding practically every male character she comes across. I hope this isn’t going to be the theme from here forward because I may have to leave Anita in St. Louis to attend to her reverse harem.

Great Story
Love the Anita Blake series, the narrator...not so much. No distinction between characters. The men sound like valley girls.
