Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

Publisher's Summary
From bestselling author Brian Freeman comes an explosive new psychological thriller that pushes the limits of reality as we know it.
One rainy night, the unthinkable happens: Dylan Moran’s car plunges off the road into a raging river, his beautiful wife drowning as he struggles to shore.
In the aftermath, through his grief, Dylan experiences sudden, strange visions: wherever he goes, he’s haunted by glimpses of himself. Dylan initially chalks it up to trauma, but that changes when he runs into a psychiatrist who claims he’s her patient. She says he has been undergoing a unique hypnotherapy treatment built on the idea that with every choice, he creates an infinite number of parallel universes.
Now those parallel universes are unlocked--and Dylan’s doppelgänger has staked a claim to his world. Can Dylan use these alternate realities to get a second chance at the life that was stolen from him? Or will he lose himself…to himself?
What the critics say
“Clever plotting matches the well-developed characters. Freeman is sure to win new fans with this page-turner.” (Publishers Weekly)
“It is so rare to have a psychological thriller that not only completely succeeds on that account, but also plays with your heartstrings, leaving behind an incredibly memorable reading experience. Infinite is something special, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.” (Bookreporter)

Frustratingly Predictable
It's a psychological thriller, but it fell flat for me. While the concept was intriguing, the book just didn't get off the ground as I knew the entire time how it was going to end and I was correct. I absolutely love this author's other works, but for me this one was a dud.

If you enjoyed "Devs" ...no spoilers
I don't usually take the time to write reviews...basically I will if the book is very bad (to warn people off) or very good (to promote it). This time the book was VERY good.
I can honestly say this was a twisty ride. I LOVE this type of techno thriller. It's mind bending and well, I don't want to spoil it for you. Like I said, you enjoyed Devs, you'll probably really enjoy this audiobook.
Also, the narrator did a great job too, I thought.

HOW MANY OF US ARE OUT THERE?
The beginning of this audiobook was so slow that I almost returned it for a refund. However, being a Freeman fan, I hung in for a little longer and soon realized I had become totally engrossed in the story. The concept was unique, there are a lot of twists that keep the reader interested, and the narrator was excellent. Well done and worth listening to.

Maybe....
I can’t speak to the story itself because I couldn’t get past the narration. There is a nasal quality to it (in my opinion) that makes me hear whining, and I really couldn’t stand his ‘female’ voice. Had to stop after two chapters.

New Novel- Infinite - It’s a no for me !
I have enjoyed every book by Brian Freeman and I think I’ve read them all. However, this was my least favorite book. I don’t wish to give away any details of the story, but I found myself so frustrated with the direction of the novel that I had to force myself to finish it. I tried to tell myself “it must be the narrator because I love this author’s books”, but it was not just the narrator ( although his voice lacked inflection). It had a discouraging and seemingly endless plot. Sorry Mr. Freeman but I cannot give your book a good recommendation. The most I can offer is that there was indeed a plot. Kind Regards.

Could not finish
There was nothing about this book that I enjoyed. I found the main character to be completely unlikable and I had no interest in trying to stick it out until the end.

Excellent performance!
The performance by Andrew Eiden really added the emotional feelings of the characters. I will definitely consider additional books where he provides the narration.
This is the type of book that should be read with an unbiased look at things we just don't understand. The mind is an amazing organ that in part contributes to how we see ourselves. Consider looking into a mirror, then imagine when you walk away a copy of yourself also leaves to participate in a different reality. If you break the mirror, now there are dozens of possible realities. A better example would be in a carnival's House of Mirrors that litterally provides you a 360 degree look at the physical representation of who you are. In Brian Freeman's book, Infinite, you will be immersed in an infinite number of realities much like these multifaceted images you see. Imagine that instead of walking away as your image retreats, one image of you choose to follow another one.

Incredibly suspenseful
This is a fantastic book.
The main character, Dylan, is a flawed, realistic and somewhat unlikeable character. But he sort of grew on me because during the book, he began to see his own flaws and tried to become a better person.
The plot was incredibly suspenseful, with many moments of uncertainty and terror for Dylan. I was wondering how the author could possibly get Dylan out of the quandary. Then there was an unexpected twist; and then another one; and then another one. And at that point something occurred to me and I partially figured things out.
It was an imaginative and wonderful novel that I didn’t want to end. The narrator was very good too.

Jaw-dropping
This is one of the most captivating audiobooks I’ve ever listened to!!!! I’m at a loss for words, as the “mental trip” of the “infinite” possibilities of the world created within the story, was unique, fresh and left me awestruck!! Loved every minute!!

Different!
There are 19 Brian Freeman books in my Audible library. Some of the others are a bit weird but not as weird as this psychological thriller. I do have some misgivings about INFINITE.
