Publisher's Summary

Inside Affair is book one of the Prime Time Series trilogy and must be listened to in order.

Xander

If I had to describe Sean Bailey, it would be: A surly, temperamental pain in my ass. Never in that equation would I ever include the word boyfriend - and not just because he’s straight.

The older brother of my life-long best friend, Sean is a detective for the Chicago PD, and is also known as Detective “Dick” for being...well, a surly, temperamental pain in everyone’s ass. He also happens to be the best they have, which is why I find myself on his doorstep the night my life is threatened by an anonymous stalker.

I only wanted the name of a bodyguard; I didn’t expect for Sean to volunteer for the job. Now, not only do I have a bodyguard, I also have a fake boyfriend.

Sean

It must be so hard to be Alexander Thorne, the number one prime-time news anchor in the country, with millions of dollars and a car that costs more than my house. I mean, I’m allowed to give him a hard time about it, but when some creep decides to cross the line and go after him, they’re gonna have to answer to me.

Going undercover has never been an issue in the past, so I don’t see why there’d be a problem now. Xander and I have known each other for years, so this should be a breeze. Except suddenly my stomach’s flipping when he looks my way, and my body comes alive whenever he brushes by me. I know I’m good at my job and playing a character and all, but this is getting out of hand.

I can’t be sure that either of us are playing anymore.

meh

meh. don't know if it was just the mediocre writing, the unoriginal dialogue or the juvenile characterization, or the mismatched btn narrator and writer's voice. but just... meh

Loved the story! Pretty good performance.

#mm #spinoff #gfy #demisexual/pansexual #brothersbestfriend #bestfriendsbrother #oppositesattract #enemiestolovers #fakeboyfriend Loved it. If I had to say 1 bad thing it would be near the start Xander told Sean if he wanted to be his boyfriend he would have to cut his hair and dress nicer. 🙄 Other than that everything about it was great and it's going to be a long 2 months for the next one to come out. Especially with that cliffhanger. I loved the Confessions series so much and I loved Xander snd Sean (aka detective dick) so I couldn't wait for this. U could read this without reading Confessions just knowing it's an awkward situation because Seans brother is Xanders best friend but it more fun when you know all about them ahead of time. I was thoroughly amused listening to them bicker back and forth. They are definitely opposites. They got to each other but deep down they've known each other their whole lives so there was already love there. Then came the sexual tension and I kept thinking how long til they give in cause it was definitely getting hot in there. I just love these 2 together. Can't wait for more. The audiobook dropped over a week earlier than the ebook. Amazon has been broken lately but for me it was a plus. I always get any Audio when it comes to Ella Frank and especially Charlie David. He did a great job. I love his voice and his emotional performance. I did find this one a little harder to tell the 2 characters apart. He usually makes sure to differentiate his charwcters voices but these 2 were too close to decipher at times.

Oh my god!!

This was really good but it ends in a cliffhanger. Be prepared for big emotions.

Shoddy narration

This narrator struggled to read fluently. He paused at random places in the middle of clauses and phrases as if he hadn’t realized that the thought continued on. He didn’t group words properly. This is typical of beginning readers and not what I would expect from a professional narrator. I also wasn’t a fan of the baritone quality of his voice. It sounded like the recording was done in a barrel which just emphasized the tone of his voice. It wasn’t pleasant to listen to. Sadly, this ruined the book for me. I couldn’t stand the weird narration.

Slow, slow burn

I am a huge fan of Ella Frank, but this book left me confused. I really like the premise, but the execution is unexpected. The MC’s did not have the chemistry I am used to from her. I was turned off by Xander’s constant berating of Shawn. The attraction did not culminate until the last hour. Charlie David gave a stellar performance as always.

Great start to a new series!

Ella has done it again, I loved this book and I am hooked! I started reading and then listened to the audiobook. I have to say, Charlie David did a great job. He really made me hear the sophistication of Xander and made Sean sound like a regular blue collar guy. There is a great push pull between these guys and a lot of good banter. I can’t wait to get more and I’m excited for more interaction with Henri and Bailey.

Amazing!!

Omg!! Sean and Zander are so good together. This book is amazing and so snarky. I love it. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Such a ride!!

This story reminds me of a Rollercoaster ride...slow on the build-up, then boom...everything happens! Then you realize the ride is over and all you wanna do is get right back on and ride again.

Loved it!

As usual Charlie David knocks it out of the park with this narration. He did an amazing job with narrating Xander and Sean. He really pulled me into the story, and I found myself fanning myself over some super steamy moments between Xander and Sean. I’m totally sucked into this new series. I was immediately drawn into Sean and Xander’s story and I liked them both from the beginning. I loved how they each began to see each other in a different light. Even though they had known each other for years, they each started to see different nuances in each other. Most of all they realized how their feelings towards each other had changed so much. I love a story that has first times, and Sean is finding a man attractive for the first time. That man, Xander, is also finding himself attracted to the last man he ever thought he’d have feelings for. The chemistry is off the charts HOT with these two, and I can’t wait to see how their relationship develops. The ending of this one leaves you saying “but, but I need to know what happens next”! I can’t wait for the next book and see how the exciting turn this one took unfolds.

Relentless bickering

The narrator was great, gave great life to the characters and has a sexy voice so that also helped. The story was constant bickering between nearly all of the characters through 80% of the story, only to be resolved in the last couple chapters, then cliff hanger. I won't read the second book.

Who doesn't love a hero!?!

The gruff Det. Dick makes for an awesome roommate (my inner child is screaming NOT!!!!). Okay so he isn't really Det. Dick- or at least not all the time! Sean is finding more and more reasons to not be such a jerk. Starting with Xander's eyes... Things start off rocky but when these two give in...phew, the heat! Ella Frank likes her tension thick, lust smokey like a haze, and desire a five alarm fire. Inside Affair is all that and a cliffhanger! I would warn you but we both know- we wouldn't have it any other way!
