Publisher's Summary

lslam is currently the most discussed religion in the Western world, and yet it is also the most misunderstood and misinterpreted. Despite frequent news coverage, we remain poorly informed about the true beliefs at the heart of Islam. How many of us would be able to explain who the Prophet Muhammad was or what the Quran actually teaches?

In this profound yet highly accessible book, practicing Muslim Mamoon Yusaf provides a vital introduction to the essential teachings of Islam. In each short chapter, he focuses on a core teaching from the Quran, such as loving kindness, resilience, gratitude, and forgiveness, and shares his unique insight into how these teachings can lead to spiritual evolution in anyone, regardless of their beliefs, religion, or background. Mamoon also considers the role of women in Islam, as well as the true nature and meaning of the words jihad and Shariah. Finally, touching upon current events, he demonstrates how acts of violence committed in the name of Islam are inherently un-Islamic and boldly concludes not only that Islam is not the cause of terrorism - Islam contains the cure for it.

Enjoyable, thought-provoking listen

I honestly loved this audiobook. The older I get, the more introspective and spiritual I've become. Mamoon takes you on his journey of spiritual growth but also reviews basic concepts in Islam and clarifies any misconceptions one may have. I related a lot to his upbringing where he was told the "what" but not the "why". He reviews concepts that my friends and I of various faiths discuss regularly. If you are on your spiritual journey, no matter your religion, this book is for you. The psychological concepts he explains are universal. And it has opened my mind on how my emotional state influences my thinking. His voice is easy to listen to, definitely draws you in and doesn't make you feel like you're in a boring lecture. A must listen!

Very Well Written

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Mamoon Yusaf did a very good job in conveying his points so the average person can understand. This is one of the few books I'll be revisiting every so often.

I've been left enriched by this book

Great insights that are useful to those who know nothing about Islam as well as those of us who were born into and raised in Islam... too many gems and bookmarks that I will revisit. An audiobook I'd highly recommend and listen to again and again. Ja za killah bi alf kheyr Mamoon

faith is not dogmatic it's personal

very interesting, poignant, & inspiring book encouraging you to reconnect to The Creator. the spirit resonates beyond a specific religion, although Islam is the focus of this book. the idea of the outside in & inside out is fascinating but nothing new for those familiar with psychology. I really enjoyed accompanying the author on his spiritual journey.

A beautiful book on Islam - what our time demanding!

Simple and thoughtful book on Islam which is covering all the aspects what faith offers and shows spirituality could attained. It’s great to see a real book about Islam like this in audible platform where primarily packed with too much islamophobic content under Islam section.

I congrats Mr. Mamoon Yusaf for this endeavor and making it simple and good to listen.

For any truth seeker to know what is real Islam other than Islamophobic media coverage, this is for you. This is the valuable first step towards Soul to Islam...

From the inside out

An enlightening book which does not miss out on its beauty, even after multiple reads.
