It’s been like this since her big 4-0 started getting closer.

LOCK THE DOORS.

Her mother stopped sleeping just before her own fortieth birthday.

She went mad and did the unthinkable because of it.

LOOK IN ON THE CHILDREN.

Is that what’s happening to Emma?

Very well done!

I enjoyed the entire book! I was invested, I wanted to know ‘for sure’ who had done what. I found it hard to press pause and go to bed! Haha!

Good Read

Overall I really enjoyed this book although it started off kinda low, it had me guessing until the end. I liked the supernatural element and the twist and turns.

What a psychological thriller!

Emma Avril, Successful Lawyer, wife to Robert and mother of 2 is getting close to her 40th birthday.
She has been dreading turning the big 4-0 and starts to go off the hinges with traumatic memories of her mother going psychotic just as she herself turned 40. Emma starts recalling the moments witnessing her mothers breaks and nearly killing her older sister Khloe. The counting of repetitive numbers, sleepless nights, losing track of time, blacking out, paranoia and the voices in her head.
Following Emma's obsessive patterns throughout the book really starts to mess with your mind.
Wow, Trying to decide whether Emma is really losing her mind, or who could it possible be that is messing with her. Annoying at times! A quick read, twisty and clever plot.

meh

Storyline was pretty predictable from the get go, even if you didn't know exactly who it was.

Intriguing

Interesting enough to keep listening until the end Great narrator. The ending, however is ridiculous!

Very hard to listen too

Main character extremely is extremely annoying. I'm only still listening I paid for it. Otherwise would not have wasted my time.

over all a good listen

The narrator did a great job, and the story was interesting for the most part.
some parts felt repetitive but there was many different potential outcomes for the story.
In the end, the twist wasn't as wild or mind blowing as I expected, but it was good and well thought out.
Over all I did enjoy listening to it.

Interesting, fun, & chilling all combined!

I loved this book. Hit close to home because I had a bout of insomnia, and it was very stressful and I did go a bit crazy too. So I did find it quite creepy and very believable in that regard.
And the twists were interesting with all of the second-guessing by both Emma, and therefore the reader. That part was fun. I found the book to be clever. Narration was outstanding. Many different characters without any of them being outlandish or annoying. Well done all around!
