I will enjoy looking up the PDFs online. I am planning to re-listen to this audiobook again, as there was A LOT to absorb w just one reading.

First of all, let me say that I didn't finish the audiobook. The book was narrated by the author herself, which I think is a terrible mistake. She is not a good narrator at all. 70% of the time, she was reading in a monotone as if she's bored of the content herself. 25% of the time, especially when it comes to lists of technical terms (ie. hormone names, chemical names) it sounded as if she put the text through an AI reader, sounding very machine-like. Only 5% of the time the narration sounded as if she's interested in the subject matter. It's difficult to keep listening when the narration is so boring, especially when the book can get quite scientific.

I've read/listened to some other books on fasting before, so I'm not unfamiliar with the subject. When I picked up this book, I was hoping it would give insights that are very specific to women, and that's what it claimed. Unfortunately, there was a lot of general fasting information and there doesn't seem to be enough focus on things specific to women. Now, keep in mind that I skipped around, so I may have missed it, but it was hard to get through all the general information that I could've gotten from other books already.

Part I of the book has a lot of general and technical information about fasting and the benefits of fasting, which kind of felt like a long pitch to convince you to fast with a lot of technical terms,

Part II talks about what to eat and the types of supplements to take and how to make your fasting lifestyle successful; however, it was still laced with a lot of technical terms and not broken down to simple to understand/absorb language. There were parts in both Part I and Part II where she lists a very long list of hormone names and chemical names. Perhaps it works better in print form, but it sure did not work well in audio form.

When I got to Part III, which offers a 45-day plan to fasting, including meal plans, I was anticipating it being straightforward. I thought it would've been do 1-2-3, and watch out for this this and that. But instead, there were even more paragraphs dedicated to convincing the reader/listener that fasting is good for you, even more paragraphs explaining how a certain hormone is reacting to the fasting, etc. This made this part very difficult to read/listen to, because I just wanted a simple action plan by this point in the book. Yet, the author is still explaining and trying to convince the reader/listener.

I end up returning the book. Perhaps this book will be good for people who have no idea what intermittent fasting is, want to know all the medical/technical skinny and can endure listening to a bunch of technical terms read out in a machine-like monotone. But it wasn't for me.

Decent Information, Terrible Audio Experience

The audio experience was awful, it seems like a robot was reading the book. Also, the diet cuts a lot of food groups that I fear it may not be a reasonable lifestyle change. I was not able to finish the book because of the audio and returned the book by chapter 9.
