Your mission: To design an intuitive UI for your next project. Your problem: You’re not sure what “intuitive UI” really means. Worst problem: Your team isn’t sure either, so your discussions about intuitive design are unproductive and opinion-driven.

My only recommendation is to consider that when the author talks about affordances, sometimes he mixes this concept with signifiers. This problem is common and has a logical explanation because signifiers is a new concept introduced by Don Norman in the latest edition of The Design of Every Day Things.
