Story
Ava only left her daughter in the pushchair for five minutes. The buckle was fastened, and she was sure it was safe. But when she came downstairs, the door was open and Abi was gone - she walked down the road, past the Lovegoods' house, and was never seen again. A year later, the Lovegoods throw a housewarming party, showing off the results of their renovation. Ava doesn’t want to go. She can’t bear to look down that end of the road, to see the place where Abi vanished, and she doesn’t want to spend time with people who don’t share her grief.

Story
When I arrive unannounced at my husband's studio in need of a shoulder to cry on after hearing that my best student, Alex, has died, I see a pair of wineglasses drying by the sink, and my deepest fear is confirmed: my husband is having an affair. Most women would fall to their knees in tears and throw him out of the house - but I just can't bring myself to do it. Instead, I go home and cook a healthy dinner for our children, walk the dog, and unload the dishwasher without complaint. I need this marriage to work to protect a terrible secret of my own....

Melville Heights is one of the nicest neighborhoods in Bristol, England. It’s the sort of place where doctors and lawyers and old-money academics live. It’s not the sort of place where people get stabbed in the back 30 times with a kitchen knife in their own homes. Someone must have seen something. Newlywed Joey Mullen, for example, recently returned from four years of working in Ibiza. She and her husband, Alfie, are eager to find a place of their own in her hometown. But Joey finds herself distracted by the man next door, Tom Fitzwilliam.

On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. During the languid days of the Christmas break, a group of 30-something friends from Oxford meets to welcome in the New Year together, a tradition they began as students 10 years ago. For this vacation, they’ve chosen an idyllic and isolated estate in the Scottish Highlands - the perfect place to get away and unwind by themselves. Publisher's Summary
An instant New York Times best seller
“I absolutely loved Invisible Girl - Lisa Jewell has a way of combining furiously twisty, utterly gripping plots with wonderfully rich characterization - she has such compassion for her characters, and we feel we know them utterly.... A triumph!” (Lucy Foley, New York Times best-selling author)
The number one New York Times best-selling author of Then She Was Gone returns with an intricate thriller about a young woman’s disappearance and a group of strangers whose lives intersect in its wake.
Young Saffyre Maddox spent three years under the care of renowned child psychologist Roan Fours. When Dr. Fours decides their sessions should end, Saffyre feels abandoned. She begins looking for ways to connect with him, from waiting outside his office to walking through his neighborhood late at night. She soon learns more than she ever wanted to about Roan and his deceptively perfect family life. On a chilly Valentine’s night, Saffyre will disappear, taking any secrets she has learned with her.
Owen Pick’s life is falling apart. In his 30s and living in his aunt’s spare bedroom, he has just been suspended from his job as a teacher after accusations of sexual misconduct - accusations he strongly denies. Searching for professional advice online, he is inadvertently sucked into the dark world of incel forums, where he meets a charismatic and mysterious figure. Owen lives across the street from the Fours family. The Fours have a bad feeling about their neighbor; Owen is a bit creepy and suspect, and their teenaged daughter swears he followed her home from the train station one night.
Could Owen be responsible? What happened to the beautiful missing Saffyre, and does her disappearance truly connect them all?
Evocative, vivid, and unpauseable, Lisa Jewell’s latest thriller is another “haunting, atmospheric, stay-up-way-too-late read” (Megan Miranda, New York Times best-selling author).

This was amazing!
I loved every minute of this book. This book had me guessing at every turn. I thought I knew what was going to happen and oh boy was I surprised. There are some loose ends at the end of the book, which is a little annoying. However, the writing and the reader’s ability to put you in the characters shoes allowed me to forget the “But what about...” and “What happened to...” moments.

so good!
I read a lot of these types of mysteries, and often the plots are sub par. Not this one. Really well written. The 3 different narrators did a good job of keeping me engaged. Only complaint was that one of the narrators' chapters were significantly louder than the other two, so I'd adjust the volume when it switched. Surprising for such a high quality production but a minor issue and didn't stop me from enjoying every bit of the story.

This wasn’t bad by any means, and if you’ve been interested in it you should definitely give this a listen. It just wasn’t what I was expecting, I guess. It wasn’t as good as The Family Upstairs, and overall I found it a little anti-climactic, but I still finished it in under a week.

Hate it ended!! Lisa Jewell, you did it again!!!!
This book was GREAT!! My 2nd book from Lisa Jewell, first being Then She Was Gone (Which I loved) but I have to say Invisible Girl DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Actually I liked this one more! I preordered title and anxiously waited...as soon as it was available I downloaded and was hooked from the start. I finished it in a day and a half. I listened EVERY chance I could on the way to work, at work when my job tasks confined me to my computer, on the way home from work, even connecting to speaker while showering before bed. That is how engrossed I was with OMAGAH!!!! what is going to happen next, MANY times I "thought" I had it figured out but continuing to listen I would think...maybe not.... I LOVED ALL of their stories, their lives, SO DIFFERENT but again SO the SAME!! ALL I can say is GET THE BOOK !!! I promise you, it will NOT leave you disappointed!! Narration was SUPERB and easy to follow!! 5 STARS!!!

Disappointing....dull and boring
It pains me to write a bad review on a Lisa Jewell book as I love this author and have read ALL her books. I was so exited about this book and even pre orderd it! Lisa Jewell is usually a master of creating rich and intertwined characters, unfortunately not this time! This book was all over the place, fragmented, hard to believe and shallow characters with no development throughout the book. Frankly I was bored and disappointed and know Lisa Jewell can do much better.

Lisa Jewell is a writing Godess
I was lucky enough to grab this book the first day that it was released in the U.S. Like previous reviewers I could not put it down and listened almost non-stop. This story does not disappoint. The characters jump off the page and I found their inner monologues extremely relatable. I am a huge fan of Lisa Jewell as well as Ruth Ware. I primarily read (and listen) to English authors in the psychological thriller genres. Invisible Girl, by Lisa Jewell is at the very top of my favorites list now.

How many suspicious people can there be in a novel-plenty as it turns out. This had me guessing all the way through. There are suspicions, surprises and a twist at the end. Loved this one. Really Enjoyed
I really enjoyed this book. It had started out slow but described the characters well, it got more and more interesting as the book went on. I loved how there were three different readers, it made it easier to understand and see the different character’s stories. I would recommend trigger warnings throughout the book, since one character does have a dark past. Overall it all kept me interested and was greatly written, and the ending tied together really well. All of the readers were amazing.
