Publisher's Summary

He was the man I was warned to stay away from.

With green eyes and an easy smile, Frank McCabe stole me away from the nightmares that awaited me at home.

But the son of the Irish Mob would never be mine. I belonged to the Italians. And the moment my mother sold me to the head of the Italian Mafia, I became the one the people of Boston were warned about.

The only person more feared than me in our city is the Irish Ghost.

When I finally flee my marital prison with my sons and my sister in tow, I unwittingly run straight into the ghost of the Irishman who died in a fiery explosion years ago.

We’re playing a game, only I’m not sure if it’s one of cat and mouse, or if he’s just after my heart.

The weapons he uses are his fists, when he teaches my sons to box, his hands, when he holds me as we dance, and the small town he now calls home.

Some call him Frank, others Ghost, but to me he’s always just been Irish.

Authors Note: Irish is a small town romantic suspense stand alone that features fan favorite Frank McCabe from Whiskey Lies and the Boston Billionaire Series.

How immersed I felt while listening. The narration style overlap of the two MCs was incredible. I have no words.

This story had me from start to finish. I clung to every word of Frank and Ellie's journey to love and freedom.

this book ruined me in all the right ways.

I loved everything about this book. The fact that the characters were older, the female character being strong, the male character being open with the emotions. This book made me cry and laugh and feel all of the emotions.

Great Story! And Joe Arden I mean you just can go wrong.

First off, Joe and Maxine did a great duet! .
Second the story was really well done, not all the secrets were given away too soon. The spicy scenes were spicy 4 star for my taste. the only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars overall is the one scene of Ellie's past was a bit too descriptive for me but that's a me thing. It's definitely going into my trophy library!

Great narration, good story

Not always a fan of mafia romance but this duet is perfect. The characters have great chemistry. Only thing that irks me is the children voice. They sound like little possessed goblins. It is not endearing at all. Joe Arden has a way of making every shady character feel like a safe haven and Maxine translates the characters emotion with a rare perfection. Spice level 4/5🌶️ 4/5⭐quality But I might be picky.

In this duet style narration novel Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell bring this story to life! They have great chemistry and this second chance story is everything! Must read! 💚

Unlikeable characters, DNF

I didn’t realize this wasn’t a standalone, and in hindsight it makes sense. I wish I had known that because I felt so lost throughout this book. I didn’t feel connected to the main characters or even like them that much. Elena’s internal monologue interpreted everything that happened, nothing was left for the reader to infer, it was very annoying. DNF at about 80% (should have sooner but held on to see if it got better. Spoiler alert-it doesn’t).
