This was a very enjoyable series. Just so people know what they're getting into, it's very explicit and I'd say there is more erotica than romance here, but there is romance and love too. This and Anna Stone's Mistress series are great for how they emphasize consent in BDSM and model how that should go. There is more than safe words, which are also there and respected, there's scenes going wrong and people recognizing that and stopping the scenes without a safe word. There's after care and talking about sub space, sub drop, and dom drop. There's women refusing to start a scene when their partner is upset. And etc.

I knocked a star off my rating because I felt like the books all should have been 1-2 hours longer so there was more character development and more development of the relationships outside the bedroom. Mistress was better balanced in this respect, imo, except for the prequel short story included at it's end.

This series is absolutely excellent but it’s genuinely hard to get into them due to the lack of narration skill, it reads like an after school special. Still, the steamy scenes, light BDSM, and the plots are all great.
