Agent Isaac Steele has problems. He spends all his splibs on drink and drugs. He has some deep-seated and very much unresolved issues with his parents. And his robotic partner at Greatest Britain’s Department of Clarification, Dr Timothy Stephens, is ruled more by his heart than his hard drive.

But all these issues take a back seat when Isaac stumbles upon a case involving the most sensitive information in the cosmos - a Never File, inaccessible to all except those with the highest clearance. He is expressly forbidden to involve himself. So naturally he does.

So begins an investigation that will take him across the Discovered Universe, into the path of the mysterious Forever Man, and eventually to answers about his past. Along the way, he will have to contend with aliens, robots, monsters, bureaucrats and, perhaps most deadly of all, his own numerous flaws.

Written and narrated by BAFTA award winner Daniel Rigby (Eric and Ernie, Flowers, Black Mirror), not since The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy have listeners been offered such a joyful, anarchic and insightful universe.

I love this series - can’t wait for more. I find most attempts at humour in sci-fi to fall very flat and is not at all witty. This actually made me laugh. I love the characters - could use even more character development - and love the world the author built. I find the whole book creative in a fresh way. Also, as an indigenous woman, I don’t have to try to ignore the sexist b.s. Can’t say how much I appreciate it. I do wish the books were longer and that there was more from this author to enjoy tho.

A great experience through and through. Rigby's writing and performance is excellent for this story. If you like books like "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" then you will surely love this wild ride.

The only thing that disappointed me about this title is that the author/performer doesn't have anything else that I can listen to and enjoy. I hope that he continues to produce his work.

The story is unpredictable. I had to relisten some passage Because i got distracted and didn’t understand where and what happened but all this in a good way, i wouldn’t want to miss One Line as it was a Nice story.

A comedy sci-fi noir that feels a bit like Hitchhiker’s Guide without seeming like any sort of imitation. I quite literally laughed out loud.

Ends on a cliffhanger and I can’t stand it, but excellent characters and tons of great subtle references and inspiration. The plot was kind of convoluted and the ending somehow felt a bit cliché, but I liked every individual scene and each conversation just brims with life!

The story is very interesting and if you don’t pay attention you can get lost. The narrator is good and will have you laughing because Isaac is quite an ahole at times.
