What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other’s lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents . . . she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life. My favourite narrator in all the world

The protagonist is a little annoying in the first half of the book, so many blatantly stupid decisions that it’s hard to be sympathetic to her plight. Add that to the childish sounding narrator and it’s a bit hard to remain engaged. Stick with it though as the second half is much better and the novel redeems itself.

Not Kinsella’s best work, but still entertaining.
