Love this book!
Would you listen to Joey Pigza Loses Control again? Why?
I use this in my 4th grade reading group. My students love to mix things up and listen to the author read instead of me. It really keeps their attention. I love seeing them get 'sucked in' to the book!

Joey pigza is pretty fun boy.I recommend you.
My favorate part was when Joey spread shaving cream on his body. It is quite fun. Joey and his dad have some adventure in the city.

Left me wanting more
Funny and yet it tugs on your heart and sympathies. There can be love and successes amongst dysfunction. The narration was great. I've ordered more in this series. I think children and many adults will love this.

Joey Pigza
I used to know a kid named Tanner. Really, I still do, but he went to Colorado for a ‘family emergency’ never figured what it was about. You see, Tanner was kind of like Joey, he didn’t have medicine, and now I think he should have. No I can’t say he was as bad as Joey, but he was not the best kid in our class. Sometimes he didn’t pay attention or he interrupted class sometimes. I would recommend this book to him and his family because, really I think he could learn something from Joey. Tanner also went to SpecialEd, but it was called R.I.S.E. Listening to this book, I am 10 years old, Tanner was like a dog, not in an offensive way, but you could just say, “No, Tanner,” or, “How do we act, Tanner?” And he would stop and listen. Sitting next to Tanner, I learned things about him. He, like Joey, was a bit, energetic. Sometimes he could not sit still. And when he went on this trip, and then I listened to this book, really reminded me of the same things. In conclusion, I believe this was a great book for people who need special mental help. Thank you for your time.

Love everything Pigza!
My 11yr old granddaughter and I have listened to the Joey Pigza stories many times, and love all of them! The characters are well developed, and I can easily picture them in my mind. Especially Joey and his grandma! These books are not just for children! There is a strong lesson of taking responsibility for your own life, despite the pitfalls that get in your way.

Jack Gantos is a FANTASTIC author.
Highly recommend the Joey Pigza series. Very amusing & entertaining. Well read by the author. Was sad when each book ended, but then I realized there was another & another. Will be really sad when I finish all of the Joey Pigza books. But Jack Gantos has many other books for all different ages that I've started listening to as well. He's a fantastic author.
