Captivating and timeless

It's no wonder this book is a classic. A beautiful look into the human heart; the good, the bad and the ugly are all there. I truly enjoyed the writing and found myself reflecting on the various characters and the strange cities during my day.

Wow. This is a must read Christian classic.

I love how the author describes with such accuracy the ups and downs and all the possible downfalls in a christian walk. The entire book is brilliantly written. The story is biblically grounded. Will read this over and over again. Absolutely edifying literature.

Excellent performance, captivating story

I had heard of this book but was wary of abridged versions because I thought they might be missing something important. All audio versions appear to be abridged in one form or another and I needed an audiobook, no time to read. I took a chance on this version because I thought the narrators voice was particularly suited to the story. It did not disappoint. A wonderful story, quite relevant today, beautifully performed by the narrator. Just altered enough so as to be understandable to modern listeners - but not so much that it would lose it’s edge by getting dulled down with modern lingo. The essence of the story seems extremely well preserved and presented, suitable for both young and old alike.

A truly mesmerizing yet convicting work of art!

At 60 years of age and, having walked as a Christian for well over 30 years now, I am embarrassed to admit that I’ve never read this most famous of books before.
There is no wonder why this book, written nearly 350 years ago, have never been out of print. Translated into more than 200 languages, The Pilgrims Progress is second only to the Bible in popularity and all-time sales around the world.
Often considered to be the first novel written in English, this remarkable work of theological fiction is an allegory which captures the hardships, pains, joys and rewards of Christian life with piercing clarity.
Outside of Scripture, I rarely read any book twice, but I will definitely be revisiting Mr. Christian on his travels again!

I am forever changed

I could never adequately explain how much this book cemented my faith in the one and only Lord God and Son of Man. I was astounded throughout the book by the scriptures that came to life in me. I am forever changed by this profound work. And lastly I must add that, as usual, Max McLean’s performance couldn’t have been improved upon.

Worth listen too, amazing

The story and Christian allegory itself is amazing and wonderful adventure! I think it’s a book that makes you think of yourself and your walk with God, it’s very relatable and relevant to the Christian faith and walk. We are all pilgrims and strangers in a strange land looking for that Celestial City, The New Jerusalem, “The LORD is there”.

As for the Narrator, you can’t get much better than Max McLean, He did a truly wonderful Job. It pairs very well with any of versions of The Listeners Audio Bible.

Please do yourself a favor and don’t hesitate to get this Audio book. Such a beautiful work of literature! God bless

Wonderful book!

It was so good to hear this classic book. I’ve searched for this book many times but the narrator always speaks the Bible verses, which although that is awesome, it takes away from the story.
This narrator just tells the story as it is intended to be heard!

Simply Amazing

This is a book that requires reading more than once more than twice even. It is amazing how it makes you think how it makes you feel and how it makes you look at yourself. I don’t think you can read this book with a Christian heart and not feel yourself growing from it.
