Publisher's Summary
A heartwarming tale of office life, homicide and biscuits, which was longlisted for the Bath Novel Award 2017.
Jonathon Fairfax, the world’s most socially awkward hero, works for a giant corporation where he specialises in muttering ‘um’ and tripping over bins.
When he accidentally discovers a colossal corporate conspiracy, it soon becomes clear that someone will do anything to keep it a secret - including murder.
Listen to this audiobook on its own or as a follow-up to The Perpetual Astonishment of Jonathon Fairfax - a best seller that was shortlisted for the Bath Novel Award 2014.
What the critics say
"It’s funny, it’s daft-yet-relatable, it’s still a nerve-jangly thriller and it moves at a cracking pace. In fact, if you’re stuck in a bit of a reading rut, it’s just the palate cleanser you need.” (Emerald Street)
"This one is even better than the one before. Buy!” (John Lenahan, best-selling author, magician and voice of the toaster in Red Dwarf)

Even Better
If you liked the first one, I think this one was even better. I especially enjoyed the dot com sales speak and all the satire related to it. The author really nailed the spirit of this era, and despite how outlandish the story seems, this was really what it was like at certain companies back then. My only complaint was that I was crushed that Jonathon had lost his girlfriend between the last book and this one, but the author makes up for it in the end.

Early 21st century fine satirical English literature yet a FUN , easy listen
Brilliant artfully descriptive writing in every paragraph about 2000's English middle class working life with a side of American corporate rat race, and a murderous thriller adventure too. Lovable multi-dimensional thoughtful introspective characters and complex relationships. Fun, twisted, intertwined and karmically satisfying plot lines. I play on repeat and laugh out loud at something new every time. I purchased hard copies for myself to have and to gift.

Another Outstanding Story
I loved this book as much as the first. Mr. Shelvin has an incredible imagination and a wicked sense of humor. My only disappointment is that the next book is not available on Audible (yet?). Mr. Robertson's narration is wonderful.
