In this illuminating biographical novel, Sherry Jones spans Josephine's early years in servitude and poverty in America to her rise to fame as a showgirl in her famous banana skirt to her activism against discrimination, and her many loves and losses. Narrator

It took me a minute to get sucked in, I had to get over the breathy narrator. Once you get past her breathiness the storyline is awesome!

Josephine Bakers Last Dance

Josephine’s life was poor in the beginning but she fought prejudice and hate and was able to bring a smile to her audiences. I was impressed she took the prejudice and fought for equality in life and on the stage. I loved this book I wish it could bring other people to realize we are all the same inside and outside.
