About this listen
While the investigations go on in Dallas and Baton Rouge after the disappearance of a senator's daughter, FBI agents CJ Johnston and Paige Riley are assigned to the sleepy backwoods of East Texas for a dead-end assignment to infiltrate an all-girls school.
Random disappearances dating back 50 years and more raise red flags that point to the tiny, isolated community of Hoganville. But CJ and Paige fear there will be little distraction from the memories of the one-night stand they shared six months ago.
Nevertheless, they integrate themselves into the lives of the teachers and staff, but soon the odd behavior of the townspeople has them convinced something sinister lurks there. Something, perhaps, that even the residents of Hoganville don't know about.

Two Thumbs Up!!
Loved it! I can't wait to read all the other series. I enjoyed the narration kept me interested and wanting to know more. And the voice changes between characters was great you knew exactly who was talking without hearing the names after. The passion between the characters were so sensual wishing you can have a relationship like that too...lol.

Holly Gerri Hill
This is not your usual Gerri Hill. This was so much better. Suspense mystery and 2 sexy lead. Doesn’t get any better.

Paranormal romance with great sexual tension
Good books. Maturity rating note: sex explicit, violence not too detailed and not gory. Mild horror vibe.

excellent
As usual Gerri hill book was soooo good. love the chemistry and banter between the MCs. This story kept you very interested and not wanting to stop. Gerri has a very good imagination in her storytelling, Definitely one of my favourite authors.

Exactly what my ADHD brain needed this weekend
I am sick. My head is dizzy from taking nitro citron. This story helped make a miserable day super fun. The story, the characters, the love story, the weird, spooky, shit, the narration, I loved it all. Going to turn on another book. Thank you so much to the artists.

long and boring
Even though this book starts by telling us of a case the team closed of 10 kids being used as s*x dolls (their words, not mine), I thought, maybe this book could get better. After all, these are supposed to be FBI agents and they can be called in on some of the worst cases, but after a while, the continuous and overtly explicit flirting and inappropriate sexual advances and references back to the ONE time the MCs slept together became tiresome and repetitive.
This book could have been at least two hours shorter. 90% of the book are these FBI agents going undercover but doing ABSOLUTELY NO investigating. They hear screams from a creature in the woods on the same night a girl disappears and what do they do? do they call and ask the rest of their team to see what wildlife is around those parts? nope. Do they go in the morning to the woods to investigate and maybe see if the girl could perhaps be in the woods? nope, they simply take what others say about ignoring the noises and carry on.
So much of this book is wasted on them getting hung up on the fact that they slept together ONCE 6 months before and now have to pretend to be married and one of them denying her attraction to the other while the other keeps up her relentless sexual advances.
The fact that they didn't even think the sheriff would be part of the community is laughable and that they would send an FBI agent into the school who has NO field experience and apparently doesn't know how to defend himself when attacked, is also laughable. This bunch is by far the worst-trained FBI agents EVER! I almost felt that this author was thinking of regular detectives, rather than FBI agents.
Even with things finally getting started at chapter 43, I was almost too fed up to even care how it ended.
The concept of this book was promising, but the execution was cr*p!
