Publisher's Summary

Brant Harkrader is done living by other peoples’ rules. He may not know exactly what he wants out of life, but he’s perfectly happy letting that question figure itself out while starting a new job as a tour guide.

Too bad the one thing he does want—his sister’s BFF—only sees him as a little brother.

Or so he thinks…

Kellan Shelby-Briggs has never shied away from going after what he wants. And what he wants is the important contract that will put his brand new company on the map—and Brant.

Too bad Kellan’s career keeps yanking him away just as things heat up between them.

Now that Brant is back in town—up close and personal in Kell's living space—can they finally get the timing right to go after the love that has eluded them both for too long?

Home is where the heart is for these two

Brant comes home after working in the big city wears him out. Kellan is home to start a new business after his partner at his previous firm steals his idea, and no one supports him.

They’ve know each other for years because Kell is Brant’s sister’s best friend. But now, they’re adults, and both have feelings for each other they don’t want to ignore.

Kell helps Brant face his bully of a stepdad and passive Mom, and Kell realizes he can’t do every job alone or he’ll miss his life with Brant, so he hires an assistant.

Interesting book, with characters who grow together and help each other face their difficulties. The audiobook reader is a bit stiff, but it was still a good read.

I received this ARC for free, and am glad to provide my honest review as a thank you.

Loved Brant and Kellan

This one of my favorite genres and Amy writes them well. Bra t and Kellan were so sweet together even when they were both pining. Michael Franklin did a wonderful job bringing the pages to life. I loved the book when I read it and am so happy I got to listen to it as well

A sweet friends-to-lovers romance - by Shana W

This was a sweet, low-angst friends-to-lovers story with likeable characters and a loveable dog. I felt that Kellan and Brant were very three dimensional, with well described personalities, jobs and outside relationships. I particularly enjoyed Kellan's relationship with Brant's sister. The narrator had a pleasant voice and did a good job of differentiating between the characters' voices; unfortunately, his reading was a little wooden, though it did seem to flow a bit better as the story progressed. I enjoy Aislin's writing and look forward to reading more by her in the future.
I was given a complimentary audiobook for review.

a sweet, low angst romance

Brant was a little hard for me to like at first but his sweetness when with Kellan made up for it. This was a sweet romance with low angst. The narration by Michael Franklin was well done and enjoyable.

Love this series!

Another amazing book in this series! I was not expecting the time jump between Keeping Casey and Keeping Kellan but I really liked that we got to see Brant a little more grown up. There is about a five year gap between the end of the first book and the start of the second but it really does set up the story so well! And we finally get to meet the guy Brant has been in love with forever, the wonderfully sweet Kellan. While it was awful to see the kind of verbal abuse Brant had been subjected to over the years from his step-dad, I loved seeing Kellan stand up for Brant, something his own mother hadn't done. Brant also was able to help Kellan see that even though he had been burnt in the past by coworkers, he had to find someone he trusted to help him so he didn't burnout with his work. I loved getting to catch up with Ethan, Casey, Theo, and his boyfriend when they all came to visit Brant and Kellan! I hope we will see more of these guys in future books. One of my favorite parts of the book was the epilogue. I loved getting to see Brant and Kellan in the future and getting to see just how happy they are together! As with all of Amy Aislin's books, the writing is wonderful and the characters are amazing. The narration was truly wonderful and I loved that Michael Franklin narrated both books in this series. I would happily listen to this narrator again!

Life after hockey and life-long crushes

I had already read and enjoyed Keeping Kellan, so when I had the opportunity to receive and review the audiobook, I jumped at it. The book is a sweet, low-angst M/M romance with a friends-to-lovers trope, which picks up the storyline of one of the side characters in her previous book, Keeping Casey, whose main characters make a couple of cameo appearances in Keeping Kellan.

It’s clear to the listener early on that both characters are interested in one another, and it doesn’t take too long for them to realize that the interest is mutual. It turns out that most of the conflict is related to Brant’s family life, resulting from his mom’s re-marriage. It’s refreshing to have the MCs' relationship be pretty solid once they've coupled up, and to see them work through some of their individual problems together.

The narrator’s performance wasn’t my favorite. His cadence was a bit stilted, but it was okay once I got used to it.

I liked the characters and the story — and I was quite envious of Kellan’s home. Overall, a thumbs up!

Low angst friends to lovers

We meet Brant in book 1 way back as a college hockey player. We now fast forward to where he’s at a crossroads in his mid-20s after leaving an office job in the big city that was slowly crushing his soul for a chance to return to his beloved home town and become a tour guide. He is reunited with his sister’s best friend who he has had feelings for since high school that have never gone away. Brant moves in with Kellan and their relationship deepens long before they finally take the romantic plunge. Both Brant and Kellan are kind, loving, well developed characters and the progression from friends to lovers felt organic. Keeping Kellan is a very sweet low angst (a little parental angst), sister’s BFF love story. Michael Franklin delivers well again. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this audiobook.

Sweet story

This is a very sweet, low angst story. It's a great friends to lovers read. ( The angst comes from Brant's relationship with his mother and stepfather.) While I enjoyed the storyline, I felt that it truly needed a better narrator. There was very little emotion in the narrator's voice and it was boring at times. I hate to even say that because the story doesn't deserve it.

Great story

I really enjoyed reading this I found kellan and brant’s job pursuits interesting and was really happy with how quickly their relationship develop since it started as friends and there was a reasonable reason for them to hold off on starting a relationship that ended during the start of the book

LOVED

Will the timing ever be right for Kellan and Brant? Now that they are both finally in the same place we shall see!
I loved the chemistry and connection between these two. Having crushed on each other for years they are now finally acting on their attraction. An attraction that quickly turns into so much more.
This sweet, steamy friends to lovers/sister's best friend love story is just what the doctor ordered.
I loved every bit of it!
Michael Franklin does a wonderful job of bringing this story to life!
