Publisher's Summary

To stop a terrorist attack, a veteran FBI agent must join forces with a bank robber.

FBI Special Agent Nick Lawrence has just transferred to the bank robbery unit based out of Connecticut’s New Haven field office. Near his breaking point after the recent death of his father, he makes the move to care for his aging mother.

Declan Enright, a former police officer recently fired over a controversial shooting, has reached his own breaking point. Confronted with insurmountable financial burdens in the wake of his early termination, Declan is desperate for a way to provide for his wife and three daughters. Tapping into an elite skill set forged during his time as a US Navy special warfare operator and using the insider knowledge of a former police officer, Declan crosses the threshold and commits the perfect crime.

Nick Lawrence is assigned to the case and begins closing in. But when a series of terrorist attacks rattles the nation, the two men find their fates intertwined.

And the only way to prevent the next attack is to work together.

Great.. if you can Suspend Disbelief

Brian Shea presents a nicely-written rollercoaster-ride story dealing with Iraqi Revenge-Terrorism, cartoonishly near-flawless FBI agents, and superhero-like ex-Special Forces operators. The descriptions of law enforcement & military procedures/tactics are authentic-sounding, character motivations are largely plausible, the pacing is breakneck, and the action scenes are well-scripted.
This book is really in no way a "Crime Thriller" - but rather a Military-flavored Action-Adventure that fans of Tom Clancy or Mark Greaney would enjoy (I am one of them). Within that genre, it's a quality example.
Shea definitely "cheats".. repeating frequently that his heroes "Don't believe in Coincidences" and then making liberal use of coincidences, for example. There are some eyerolling *wink-wink* plot advances
..but if you can let the ludicrous elements of the tale go, the story is fun.

Despite often weak voice-acting and occasional annoying pronunciations ("SOO-ter-ing" and "byur-OH"), Conner Golf provides passable narration for the story. His diction, timbre, cadence, and tone are professional, for example.. and his rate of reading is spot-on.
Taking into consideration a natural sibilance that Silverton Agency sound editors struggle to soften, I rate the presentation of this book solidly "average".

Check your brain at the door and ignore that little "this is crazy" voice if you decide to give this offering a chance. If you can manage it, 'Kill List' rates 8 stars out of 10. I am grateful to Audible for making it available as a 'Plus' selection included with my subscription - because it's good enough for me to give Book Two in the 'Nick Lawrence' series a listen.
