After a series of personal tragedies and abuse from his alcoholic mother, 18 year old Bax is determined to rebuild his life.

Using money left to him by his father, he finds a place to live, and a job at the local coffee shop. But after he begins to experience psychic visions after touching certain objects, Bax realizes that a normal life may not be in store for him.

Things take a turn for the scary when he uncovers evidence that may have belonged to the latest victim of a serial killer. With no family to turn to, he enlists the help of Piper: his fellow barista and a lover of mysteries.

Together, they attempt to track the killer down before another life is lost. But are Bax's unique abilities and Piper's wit enough to bring the murderer to justice?

An exciting story with interesting characters and an intriguing mystery. Well developed world building by the author and a great performance by the narrator, all the characters had clearly defined voices and they really brought the story to life. I'm looking forward to the next book and anything else Ryan James narrates.

The story was interesting and original, with a decent dose of mystery. The narration was crystal clear made it easy to follow the story. The accents and emotional inflections on the character voices keeps you in the moment during conversations and brings the characters to life. Amazing work!

I really enjoyed this book! It kept me wondering what was going to happen. I like a feel good book and while there were sad and frightening moments it was overall a story of overcoming some darkness. The narration was excellent and made me laugh on several occasions, the voice was very smooth and easy to listen to.
