Publisher's Summary

THE FIRST NOVEL IN LEE CHILD'S #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING JACK REACHER SERIES—NOW AN ORIGINAL SERIES ON PRIME VIDEO!

“From its jolting opening scene to its fiery final confrontation, Killing Floor is irresistible.”—People

Ex-military policeman Jack Reacher is a drifter. He’s just passing through Margrave, Georgia, and in less than an hour, he’s arrested for murder. Not much of a welcome. All Reacher knows is that he didn’t kill anybody. At least not here. Not lately. But he doesn’t stand a chance of convincing anyone. Not in Margrave, Georgia. Not a chance in hell.

Sleepless in Vancouver

Typical of Lee’s other Reacher stories. Chapters ending in cliff hanging suspense that I felt compelled to read the next chapter. This effect caused many very late nights of little sleep. I thoroughly enjoy Dick’s narration. My second “Reacher” Audible by Dick. My fourth “Reacher” book. I’ve become a “Reacher” addict. Worse things in life. I guess.

A little long winded

Good characters, enjoyable listening but dragged through the middle a bit. It is just such a shame Tom Cruise was picked to play Jack in the movies!

Yawn!!

I don't read many books and did a lot of research to find an action spy type book and the Jack Reacher books were recommended and highly rated. I found this book to move at a snails pace and used the same terminology over and over again. The type of thing an 8th grade English teacher would dock marks for. To me this was a slow investigative drama with maybe 6-7 decent chapters.

You know it'd bad when you keep figuring out things and have to wait a couple chapters for the main character to figure it out. I fell asleep a few times but forced my way to the end in case it got significantly better, and it didn't.

I hope this is the worst book of the series, but I will never find out. I plan to see if I can return this book because of the 17 hours of wasted live I suffered and plan to return the second book of the series that I bought at the same time.

I suppose with all of the good reviews, people don't like suspense and have a tough time figuring out easy to solve twists due to obvious foreshadowing.

If I hear one more "I nosed the car into the parking lot", "I heard the suction of the big glass door", "we fell in the bed in an exhausted ENTANGLEMENT" I will scream, some I've these were used over 20 times, as if the author had never heard of a thesaurus.

Snooze fest 100%

Oh please

Every woman in this story (including the cop) is weak and helpless and cries all the time. Seriously, does this author even know any women?

My first Lee Child/Jack Reacher...many more to go!

What an entertaining and intriguing book! I look forward to the rest of the series. The author has a huge talent and the narrator certainly makes the story come to life!

A good listen though a little slow.

Good story and narrator did a decent job. I found the author rambles on somewhat and goes into detail on parts of the story that add no value at all. Will still check out more of the Jack Reacher series.

Promising start; but formulaic, near absurd, plot!

The story is ok if you want to read something light as a palate cleanser. I set the speed at 1.20 to make Dick Hill sound natural.

Meh

Don’t love how the female characters (even a police officer) are portrayed as weak damsels that need to be rescued by the big strong men. And a male narrator doing a female southern accent only added to my annoyance.

Danger and Action from Start to Finish

The narrator was like a hard boiled detective from an old novel. He really brought it to life. Fabulous!
