very pleased with this new series. very likeable characters. love story is not rushed or feels like too much. I enjoyed the fantastical world building and the last and love and frenzy of it all is breathtaking.
cannot wait to start the next book in the series.

The story was interesting, certainly the attraction is there between the characters. The female lead just seems very conflicted all the time, trapped in her own thoughts. She is not much one for action. I would have preferred it if she took control more often, not just on the rare occasions when she was forced to.

The performance just sounds “tired”, making the character sound exhausted all the time. Which maybe she is?

I am just not inspired to look for a sequel in this series.

Everything was great until the bonus chapter in Adrian's view. The voice was terrible, revolting. I hated it.

A good love story & light/easy listen “palate cleanser” between more emotional books. FMC carries on her closed mindedness too long for my liking but I like her strength overall. One review said it is straight erotica and I disagree. It’s a spicy book but not as much as lots of others in this genre. I found Phantasma more spicy for example. Narration- this is not a duet & only 1 chapter (bonus pov) in the male narrator voice - he doesn’t sound like the mmc should (should sound less villainy & was supposed to have a bit of an accent)…It’s Eris from acotar’s voice. & though I love Lilly Drake in Plated Prisoner & as Isolde, I didn’t care for her doing the other voices, sometimes hard to distinguish who was speaking.

Loved the storyline and the spiciness in this book. Loved Lily as the narrator. Didn't love the guy who did the bonus chapter as Adrian, in fact it was terrible, could not imagine Adrian sounding like that.

Most definitely NOT a slow burn but damn it was HOT!! Narrator was great. I wish she did the bonus chapter because the man that voiced that was not sexy sounding at all and was super rushed sounding. I would have liked a bit more world building but I would listen to this again!

As for the story, it wasn’t what I had expected based on the reviews and synopsis. Was hoping for slow burn, enemies to lovers trope, but this wasn’t the case.

The characters didn’t have much depth, but interesting story concept. And accolades for consent.

I read the synopsis and reviews, nothing indicated this is heavily erotica with little to absolutely no story. By the last 90%, i still had no idea what the book was actually about. I’m extremely disappointed.

The storyline was interesting and the narrators did a great job. This just wasn’t a story for me. The instant love because of reincarnation just wasn’t written well for a romance, for me. Obviously the new love was different from his past love, and you didn’t really get his perspective of how he reconciled the differences. Also, Isolde didn’t even flinch that she was a soul reincarnate and Adrian loved her already? There was no internal conflict that she felt he loved who she was and not who she is now, A soul is not a personality. It’s just giving me that the author is telling me how to feel without showing me how I should feel. I didn’t even like Isolde 3/4 of the book, she was too pious, aggressive and discriminatory even when the truth was smacking her in the face. And Adrian really didn’t have any personality that we got to see besides the sexual tension with Isolde.
