For the most part this story held my attention. However, despite the spice, this wasn't a very sexy or romantic book. There are issues in this book that are a bit cringe. One one hand, I appreciate certain things not being romanticized but on the other, I'm not wanting to experience a book that has a black cloud hanging over the whole story world. If there were humorous breaks throughout, I would have enjoyed it better. Still, the dog, owner and peanut butter was rather revolting. There was a good amount of focus on the couples relationship. Yet, I'd have preferred if the rest of the book focused more on mystery rather than cringe. The narration was really good apart from a few dubbed areas. ...they seemed dubbed.
